I'm no doctor, but that sounds like pre-surgery jitters, it actually happens more than you think with people that are getting surgeries, especially if it has been scheduled for a long time. (More time to worry, etc)

Hope he gets better though.

I hope he gets better. It's probably pre-surgery jitters like D-Man said, it happened to my Dad when he had to go into surgery, except it wasnt quite bad enough that he had to go to the hospital :S

well,it turns out he's doing much much better,he's moving around and he stoped shaking,so all he needs is his back surgery and he'll be back to normal in no time
