I think that it's impossible to please all the fans with only a few shows, especially if all those shows ring on the same bells and use the same methods to please the fans. Smackdown, Raw and NXT are almost identical and nothing can explain the need to keep the brands separated.

We also know that fans will always ask for "more of this" or "less of that" and will never be happy. WWE multiplies the number of shows, but doesn't alter the recipes. WWE won't get new fans if they continue not to change.

In my opinion, WWE would be better, if they specialize the various shows that they already have and only add some specific shows created for specific audiences. The various shows won't be more than 2 hours long to avoid to make us sleep in front of TV.

The seperation between the shows won't be total as wrestlers would often be able to travel between the shows.

With a such method : The fans will be able to focus on the shows they prefer.

Ideas

Monday :

- Raw : PG-14 featuring hardcore matches, sexual innuendos (better than the cobra is attracted by Askana) and why not strip-teases to attract the older fans. The matches in this show would be more realistic and mainly won through submissions and KO.

Tuesday :

- Smackdown : same show, but PG (less violence and sexuality). This show would also have more tag-team matches.

Wednesday :

- WWE's chikara : Chikara in WWE with gimmicks and light comedy.

Thursday :

- Velocity : PG or PG-14 featuring mainly highflyers and lucha libre wrestlers.

Friday :

- Delicious divas : one PG-14/M show only featuring female wrestlers.

Saturday :

- Pro-Wrestling can hurt : one shoot-wrestling show between MMA and pro-wrestling. The hits, the submissions and the blood are real. Victory can be awarded through submissions, three counts (and TKO). This show would work with a tournament to give more respect to the belt holders.

Sunday :

- Kid show : heavy comedy, political correctness and no dangerous moves.

--> 7 shows for 7 days :cool2

You're basically just saying WWE should go back to the Attitude Era method of programming but just have some kid shows on other days of the week.

What WWE does by having all of their shows look the same is a pretty basic marketing principle. They want people to recognize their brand while channel surfing. It's the same reason why a Meatball Sub at Subway tastes the same wherever you go. Having 7 shows that all look different would ruin brand recognition as well as isolating their fans because a majority of the fans would not watch every show.

No.

Just... No.

Society isn't anything remotely like it was during the late 90's. The WWE would lose its Sponsorship and it's TV slot for RAW if they went by what you want.

As for Smackdown, during the AE it was PG. Being PG is not a problem, it's the creative department that is in a mess.

Those shows would be all featured on WWE network (and on other channels), so the brand recognition won't be flawed.

To use your analogy, Subway has a lot of sandwiches with different tastes, but the subway eaters are able to recognize that they are all from the same brand.

I can see what you're getting at. If they had PPVs aimed at older viewers where you see a few more chair shots and stuff, but the TV weeklies were PG then that would be a step in a good direction.

But again, this is from a selfish fans perspective; Wrestling is dangerous enough and increases 10 fold when it's more 'hardcore', and the women probably don't want to do the racy sex-filled stuff where they're naked anymore.

You will also get parents catching kids watching the heavy shows, and if it's as bad as can be then they will still get so much flak for it.

Plus, WWE is still massively successful. Changing it for a few fans on the internet is a bit daft.
