He can tone down the comedy when he has to it. I don't follow NWA at all but I would imgaine they booked a fairly lengthy feud between Colt and Pearce.

He's a very old-fashioned wrestler so he does fit the mold, in that sense. I don't think that a comedy guy has ever held the belt before though. Unless you count R-Truth.

Anyway, good for Colt and good for the NWA. He's a much bigger name than Pearce, in all honesty. As good a champ as Pearce was.

Yep. I don't know how people look at it, but the NWA's title history includes the TNA title runs, so it's all considered the same title.
