Theres zero chance of him ever turning heel this late in his career and near the end of it i know, but would anyone else have liked to see how he would have worked as a heel? Mysterio is probably the only guy in WWE to have never been heel once. I'm just curious of how Mysterio would have performed as a heel, he's always been the smiling masked good guy it would have been interesting to see him cut promos as a heel.

Re: Mysterio shuld have had a heel run

I think the same thing sometimes, but I have a feeling he wouldn't have made an outstanding heel. It's hard to see someone of his stature playing the villain in WWE. I think the same for Kingston, who's never played a heel also - and who I see as essentially the next Rey Mysterio.

He's still the perfect babyface though, and WWE hasn't exactly wasted his talented which is good atleast.

But like you said OP, it would have been interesting to have seen him as a heel. In my mind he's still a legend with a flawless babyface career.

It wouldn't work at all. He's a natural babyface and he would have to overhaul his entire moveset including his finisher. Plus, what would make him turn? He is getting great pops and the kids go bonkers for him. They would really have to do some work to make an angle not seemed so forced. This is probably a rare case where I don't want to see a character change. Yes, he has been the same for years, but I don't see it working as a heel or even a tweener. Unless he unmasks, which REALLY is never going to happen.

Well alot of people thought Jeff Hardy would have been a horrible heel but he was great. You never know exactly how good someone would be as a a heel until you see them as a heel. Also remember i said i know he's not gonna turn heel because his career is almost over, i was just asking if anyone would have liked to see him as a heel in the past.

The guy doesn't have mic skills for it and me watching some of the interviews with the guy I can't see a heel in him. Not now and not then. Besides his talent never showed on the mic but in the ring but we can see his ring skills no matter if he's a heel or face so no never was a reason to make that change for the guy...just like say never was any real good reason to turn guys like Carlito face. Sometimes it just doesn't work.

Rey is one of those guys that is meant to be a babyface for his entire career. His moveset, his presence, everything just screams good guy. The guy moves nearly as much merch as John Cena.

There is no way on Earth a guy with his style, look, and size could be a babyface UNLESS he had killer mic skills to get himself over as a heel.

But oh wait, Rey sucks on the mic, so never mind.

Exactly. Jeff was among my faves when he was heel. Rey should've had a shot at this.

Every time I see this topic it reminds me of his heel run in WCW. Ummm....yeah I don't wanna see that again. He's a natural face from an image, personality and size perspective.
Precisely. I don't understand the Internet-based obsession with turning everyone heel. We saw Rey be a heel in WCW and, no, I don't ever, ever want to see that again. Not only is he completely, utterly ill-suited to playing a rudo, perhaps especially in WWE of all places where the kids adore him, but he's in the twilight of his career and could be gone a year from now for all we know. Let him finish his career out the right way as the babyface character he's always been adroit at playing, put Sin Cara over big and say goodbye while he can still walk.

He was heel in Wcw but never got that chance in WWE which is a shame because it would had been interesting tv 2 see him as a heel

I believe that there are kiddies who are sick of seeing the same old Rey and want to turn him heel. Who says heels don't sell merchandise? I went to Unforgiven 2002 at the Staples Center, LA, and saw many kids bought the Here Comes the Pain shirt. Lesnar was a heel, feuding with the Undertaker. I personally bought Lesnar's sponge hand. Lesnar's merchandise sold more than anyone else, I noticed at the PPV.
