My prediction: Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns will main event Night 2 of WM42!

Although there are no direct stakes involved in the upcoming Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins match, one thing I did realize is this:

Last year, when they did world champion vs world champion at Crown Jewel, Cody Rhodes defeated Gunther.

Cody Rhodes would go on to main event Night 2 of WM41, whereas Gunther....opening match of Night 1.

Now, Im not saying Cody vs Seth will result in the same extremes taking place at WM42.

However, im 100% sure that Seth Rollins will defeat Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel. Here's why:

1) Cody beat Seth 3 TIMES in 2022. There's no way Seth is losing a 4th time.

2) At the last PLE WrestlePalooza, Cody beat Mcyintyre, while Seth lost his mixed tag match. There will now be a balancing act at Crown Jewel: Seth wins, Cody loses.

With Seth defeating Cody, it will show that visually, Seth is the superior champion, and Seth will be the one that WWE slots into the main event of Night 2 of Wrestlemania.

HHH is gonna have Seth Rollins follow the same formula that he himself followed, and that Roman Reigns followed in recent years: the top (heel) champion in WWE, with babyfaces chasing him.

As we all know, the Night 2 main event of WrestleMania, is THE actual main event of Wrestlemania.

Even at WM42, im predicting that Seth will defeat Roman Reigns to retain the World Heavyweight Title.

This of course, is the setup to have Bron Breakker defeat Seth Rollins eventually in a Night 2 main event of Wrestlemania, as we all know.

Thoughts?

Its one of the possibilities

I don't really agree with your logic though OP.

Seth is probably going to win at crown jewel, but he might also lose. This will have 0 bearing on who main events WM42.

Seth vs Roman big blowoff match/feud 1vs1 makes sense though, so maybe. Doing Cody vs Punk in the other main event makes sense. And I could actually see either or get the night 2 slot, 50/50 if those end up being the matches

Ya know it might sound crazy, but with Triple H. mentioning about Doubleing Down, maybe they do the rematch, but this time closing Night Two! For The World Title. Elimination Style
World Champion Seth Rollins vs Royal Rumble winner C.M. Punk vs Roman Reigns.

I've still got the following pencilled for WrestleMania in Vegas:

Cody vs Orton for the WWE title
Seth vs Punk for the World Heavyweight title
Reigns vs Breakker
Lesnar vs Gunther
I'm hoping Jericho jumps ship so they go with:

Cody vs Punk for the WWE title
Seth vs Jericho for the World Heavyweight title
Reigns vs Breakker
Lesnar vs Gunther

That feels more like Mania.

Ever since Roman Reigns lost his Paul Heyman, I been trying to figure out how he is going to remain as a top main event guy in 2026.

Do you think Roman Reigns can maintain momentum as a solo talent without Paul Heyman being his mouthpiece? What is Roman Reigns without Paul?

I expect Roman vs Seth for the title, but they'll still have Cody vs Orton as the actual main event.

Doubt it. The day Bron Steiner formed an alliance with Rollins, I said "there's one of your World title main-events for Mania 42".

Bron doesn't need to stay with Rollins for an extra year past Mania 42.

Rollins vs Reigns is stale at this point. Just like Punk vs Rollins.

Hmm, but its too early to pull the trigger on Breakker vs Rollins.

Im assuming HHH will keep the Evolution format of Batista vs HHH: let The Vision be a thing for about 2 years or so, and then pull the trigger on Breakker vs Rollins.

Again, what is with this idea that Punk can just lose to Seth and then end up in the main event against a much bigger star? He'll be a joke contender. He will not be taken seriously against Cody as even a miniscule threat. There has to be a payoff to this angle with Rollins. That payoff is beating him for the title. Preferably at Mania and then running with it until close to the 43 Rumble. He and Cody should be the 43 main event. You could have him beat Rollins before Mania, end up with the title, the angle ends, he triumphs, and then he quickly drops the title to someone else who isn't Seth, but then you're speed running things and not giving them any room to air themselves out.

I know it won't be the main event because Dwayne is gonna fuck everything up again, but you should do it at 43, not 42. When it makes sense. It doesn't make any sense for Punk to lose to Rollins, not win the title, then win the Rumble and run away from Seth and his crew. He'll be a bitch. A bigger one than he is now.
