As for the sting banner, text sucks, cuts suck, BG sucks, and it needs a border.

No blending, crappy fonts, no colour scheme, no border, low quality cuts.

Complete lack of blending makes the banner look tossed together. It doesn't flow. And no matter how much you blend, nothing will ever look good on that background, so get rid of it and make yourself a real one.
