Honestly he should go to TNA lmao

Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp has learned that Miro, formerly Rusev, has asked for his release from All Elite Wrestling.

Miro hasn't wrestled for AEW at all in 2024, last winning a match at AEW Worlds End 2023. We're told that Miro was sidelined longer than AEW expected after that match, but has been healthy for quite some time. There was some consideration internally to use him in the AEW All In Casino Gauntlet, and he had pitched working with Jon Moxley earlier this year. Miro and AEW were unable to get on the same page creatively, something that became somewhat common for the two sides over recent years.

Miro worked only seven matches for AEW in 2023, and has only wrestled 11 matches since December 2021.

We've not learned if Miro was granted his release or if there's interest from WWE. Miro is earning into the seven figures. Miro had signed a contract upon joining AEW in September 2020 that was set to expire in Spring 2022. However he signed a four-year extension around that time, that could still have him with AEW until Spring 2026.

Just let him leave. If he doesn't wanna cooperate creatively, and you don't wanna make him come into work, then it is what it is and fire the guy.

Maybe WWE brings him back or something, but I generally wonder how much he wants to even wrestle anymore.

Is it possible to recoup some of the cash before booting him. Dude has done barely anything for 75% of his run.

Just let him go, Tony! I enjoy Miro when he's on the show but he's never on the show. It's actually more annoying than anything.

You know there was a time when Miro was one of the more entertaining acts and could've been a contender for the AEW World Championship. I dunno what happened that he stopped showing up for work. I find it hard to believe that he refused to lose a fake wrestling match because who cares? He lost to Sammy Guevara and came the closest to losing to Fuego Del Sol

I was going to say... who returns to WWE first... Miro or Lana?

Miro would do well in TNA.

I don't miss him but I think it'd be kind of cool seeing him back probably because that tenure is all I remember. I know after that he joined that failed "League of Nations" and started the Rusev Day thing but by then I barely watched WWE anymore. All I recall is Alexander Rusev being a solid heel monster and Lana having a cool almost Soul Blade/Calibur-esque theme:

At this point he needs to go to New Japan and completely rebuild himself. He lost his last 17 PPV matches in WWE, got mad, took his ball to AEW, can't be bothered to put OC over, took his ball, went home again, and now he is nearly 40, can barely move, and just lost his girl to top it all off.

A New Japan run is about all I can see that might save him at this point.

I think he's hard to deal with behind the scenes that's why Vince never trusted him with mainevent push. He proved it in AEW with not wanting to put anyone over.. not even hangman in a battle royale, he wouldn't let one of the top faces throw him off the top rope.

Redeemer stuff was good but not that good to deal with that kind of nonsense. He would definitely be a champion by now if he didn't have his head up his own ass.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Tony doesn't give it to him.

Last March, he tweeted something about being injured since September and only getting medical attention in January. What happened to that? Did he lie about it? Did TK and Management stopped talking to him all of a sudden?

In 2023, he wrestled a total of seven matches. In 2022, he wrestled a total of four matches. He had quite an undefeated streak in 2021 as the TNT Champion, did being champ get into his head? Did he have some condition on his contract that he needs to win majority of his matches or if he loses a match he still needs to look strong? Aside from losing his championship in 2021, he hasn't done anything noteworthy. Sure, every time he does appear the crowd seems to still be in it but I guess they haven't caught on as to why he isn't being used if he's healthy. AEW has three shows, they do have a bloated roster, but I find it impossible for him not to get booked at least once a week.

Maybe it's time for him to move to a different company. Maybe TNA or he could go to Japan. He's 38 if I'm not mistaken, he still could go bar any serious injuries, maybe it's the environment that's become toxic to him and it's time to move on.
