What a shame. RIP Lucha Underground.

I was introduced to the Lucha Bros, Kairi Sane, Mayu Iwanti, Io Shirai, Ricochet, Matt Cross, Jeff Cobb, Willie Mack, Brian Cage, Angelico, Shane Strickland, AR Fox, Fantasma.

It has a place in my heart.

Damn shame. Along with NJPW and NXT I think LU has been one of the very few bright spots of wrestling this decade. Probably the most consistently good episodic wrestling show since Nitro. It really felt like it had the ingredients to get big and appeal to a wider audience but sadly it just never seemed to grow past a certain point. RIP.

Sad that an alternative promotion is most likely gone. But since season 1, LU has been a trainwreck of bad ideas that just don't belong in wrestling. It felt too much like a video game like Mortal Kombat than it ever did an interpretation of a realistic sport. It could never sustain itself with those ideas.

Still, we need more alternatives out there again. It would be kinda cool to have a territory like system again where there is a wrestling show for everyone somewhere out there.

Their shows were creative as hell. Loved the intergender/supernatural stuff they did. I liked Paul London's run too.

It's a shame that Lucha Underground is done, the matches they had were some awesome matches to watch. After seeing that Netflix wasn't having LU S3/S4, knew sometime after that there wasn't gonna be much more left in it.

This is not good for business. Lucha underground was putting on a decent product even last season. Stupid if you ask me.

The weird thing is, I'm all excited about AEW now after Double or Nothing, but I'm grieving for Lucha Underground. It's like the wrestling gods blessed us with something new and awesome in AEW, but took something awesome away in Lucha Underground

Cruel universe:frown2:

Even with AEW finally giving people an awesome new WWE alternative with enough financial backing to compete at their level, there's nothing out there that has the same creative approach as LU. They were very unique and they've left behind a hole in the world of wrestling that won't be filled unless someone decides to create something very similar, but LU was such a risky venture that it's unlikely that'll ever happen again.

I still believe the Matanza unveiling was the moment it started to die. Cobb was terrible casting for the spot.
