Has WWE killed the mid-card? The mid card fueds have rewarded us with some of the greatest matches over the years. Steamboat/Savage, Rude/Roberts, Valentine/JYD, etc.... What were some of your mid-card fueds? What would you like to see?

yeah they have, just look at the quarter hour ratings, people only watch the important segments like the main event and the top storylines. That's why the ratings are down, a three hour show and people only watch the important concepts that the show is focusing on..the mid card match ups lose viewers....

If WWE actually gave a shit about them, they would improve.Just give the midcarders a storyline instead of random matches. How can the viewers be interested if they fight for no reason?

In 2009,Drew McIntyre got huge reactions from the crowd when he insulted Teddy Long. And when Teddy Long got his revenge, the crowd went nuts.If those two could get the crowd to get invested,I am sure most wrestlers could do the same.Give them a reason to fight

Agreed. When the company was at it's most entertaining there was storyline for the mid card to work With as well as the intercontinental title had some prestige.

People keep saying this but the best two feuds in the last month or so have been mid card to upper mid card feuds in Rhodes Family vs Shield and Show vs HHH/Stephanie. It's the main event which has sucked since NOC. Some may consider Show in the main event but for his own feud is a upper mid card one which is intended to help further the real main event storyline(Bryan vs Orton over the title). The mid card titles don't get booked very well but both Cody Rhodes and Big Show have been elevated recently and are over due to this.

Chris Benoit vs. Orlando Jordan was the greatest series of squash matches I ever saw.

Remember the midcarders in the Ruthless Aggression Era? Shawn Michaels, Legend Killer Orton, Chris Benoit, Undertaker, Edge, Christian, Chris Jericho, **** Foley, Kane, & others.

Most of those midcarders would be main eventers in the current roster, WWE has less talent to work with. But the fault lies entirely on creative, the last real midcard feud that I remember was Cody/Sandow, & it was good, now they only concentrate on the main event & the upper midcard, basically anything that doesn't involve Bryan/Punk/Orton/Cody doesn't have a storyline.

Instead of a pointless Del Rio vs R-Truth match a couple of weeks ago, why didn't they make a contracts signing between Del Rio & RVD? or a face to face promo? EDIT: That came out wrong, RVD shouldn't go anywhere near a mic, but he has Ricardo as a mouthpiece.

They really have, they seem to have the mid card as less important now, when you talk about those feuds you mentioned above, a lot was put into building them up, creating a good storyline, everything, think about feuds that Ted Dibiase would be in, that are looked back on some of the greatest feuds, the HBK/Marty Jannetty breakup, the Martel/Roberts situation, the list is endless, it's like they put more effort into them, where as now, they'll build a little something and get them to have a match and that's it, so many mid card talents, some that never even held a title, are seen as some of the best and most respected talents in the business, which I feel some mid carders we have now will be also in time (Dolph Ziggler for example) ... but they do seem to put more into Main Events than they do their mid cards, which is a shame really.

That said, the whole Rhodes family storyline at the moment is brilliant, much better than the Big Show/Orton/Bryan thing that's going on by far .. so it's not all bad, but it's still not as good as it could be when it comes to the mid card, where some of the best talents are.

I blame the end of the brand split. Each brand had it's own writing crew and they had more time to book mid card feuds and their own ME feud - now with no split everything revolves around the top feud in the company and everything else is literally filler, thrown together at the last minute. And they guys they choose to push down the line - the MITB champs are jobbed out ridiculously until they cash in, instead of building them up for the big cash in so they have some credibility - they;re booked as jobbers who use the MITB contract to steal an underhanded win.

it fucks up ppv's when they don't focus much attention on the mid card, ur left with 2 or 3 important matches that have a story and build up to them and then u'll have about 4 matches that are just thrown together at the last minute filler matches and obviously the crowd and tv viewers struggle to give a crap about them
