RVD - Wrestling: C Mic Work: F
-Should be shown the door. At this point his athleticsm is pretty much shot, he gets blown up minutes into a match, and he has neither mic skills nor ring pyschology to his credit. The guy is a waste of time at this point.
I think you've being extremely hard on Rob, but I guess his style is not for everybody. I don't think his mic work is F bad, I just don't think he's given a chance to speak, or even given any good material. Basically TNA tries their best to pass him off as just a top wrestler.
Jeff Hardy - Wrestling: B Mic Work: B (as heel)
-No problems with this guy as a heel. He plays his part very well and does what needs to be done to have people want to see other guys kick his teeth in. I like him in TNA alot.
I think you are spot on here, no arguments, his mic work has been much improved as heel. But then again it is much easier to be a heel than a face in this business, so that should be taken into consideration. Especially in this day and age.
Kurt Angle - Wrestling: A+ Mic Work: B+
-Simply the best in the business even at 41 since his only competitors, HBK & Jericho, are both gone.
No arguments, Kurt Angle is a total package and an all time great in this business.
The POPE - Wrestling: C+ Mic Work: A-
-Love the guy, ooozes charisma, has superstar talent, the only guy in the "youth" movement that has the ability to carry TNA to greener pastures. With that said, he needs a much better finisher. People call the People's Elbow The Rocks finisher but his finisher was really The Rock Bottom. Hogan got away with a lame finisher but those days are gone. Pope needs to perfect the DDT ala Jake The Snake and make that his finisher, it would work well for him, utilize his quickness, and he can apply it to any size wrestler which is important when you are talking about a guy as small as Dinero.
No argument, and I especially loved your point about the finisher. The DDE is not a main event caliber finisher. It's actually kind of lame. I personally think he should just steel Christian's "Unprettier" and call it something else.
ABYSS - Wrestling D Mic Work: F
-Absolute garbage, indy level wrestler. Should be cut immediately and never seen again on television.
Couldn't disagree more, especially about the mic work. I'm a big Abyss fan and for a good reason. Not trying to be offensive but I just don't think you appreciate his talent.
Samoa Joe - Wrestling: A+ Mic Work: B-
-Kinda underrated on the mic IMO, Joe always gets his point across and is believable in his delivery. This is a guy TNA should push to the top.
Wrestling all good, Mic work needs work, I don't know how you can say Abyss is an F on the mic and Joe is a B-. I think you're letting some favoritism cloud your judgement. But I agree as I have always agreed Samoa Joe should be a constant in the main event and upper echelon. TNA has dropped the ball on him for YEARS now.
Matt Morgan - Wrestling: D+ Mic Work: C-
-Despite the low grades, I see potential in Morgan as a main eventer. His look needs to be completely repackaged, he needs to begin dressing like a Kevin Nash and looking like an actual big man. Needs to lose the Mountain Man goatee and go with the look he had in the 'E. But he has potential, he can work the mic no doubt but he comes off as lame and cheesy. He smiles at the wrong time, laughs at the wrong time, he just does stuff that a 6' 250 lb wrestler would do and that doesnt work for a 6'8" 300 lb guy that should be menacing, not trying to be charismatic and funny.
Can't disgaree that Morgan's "gimmick" doesn't fit his body type. But he has potential to be a great mic worker given the proper gimmick, and for a big man he is wrong in the ring. I think you tend to forget that smaller guys movie better in the ring, and when you got near 7 footers, you should take it into consideration. Size coupled with Body of work. Big guys are there to be big and menacing power houses like you said, they aren't typically the premier athletes however.
Robert Roode - Wrestling: B+ Mic Work: B+
-One of TNAs hidden gems, this guy should be a main eventer and the central figure of Fortune when they turn heel on AJ Styles at Lockdown. Love this guy, absolutely should be pushed to the moon and back.
I love Roode, one of my favorites, he needs to be pushed to the TOP. It pays (or at least it should) to be Roode.
James Storm - Wrestling: B+ Mic Work: N/A
-I just havent seen enough mic work from Storm to know if he is just good at delivering key phrases or if he can actually carry a feud on the mic. Not sure if this guy doesnt get lost as a singles competitor but he should always be a regular in the tag division whether it is with Robert Roode or if they ever reunite AMW and he is back with Chris Harris.
James is a carbon copy of Roode, similar in ring styles, but Storm is typically the cynical drunk on the mic, which to be is pretty funny. He's like Steve Austin in reverse, the laid back drunk that will still kick your ass. I have no problem with his gimmick, other than that they should try to make his character a little more serious, while still valuing his cynical and arrogant drunken demeanor.
