Get the title off Punk. Have Cena fail at HIAC, call it due to the arm problem. The have Punk lose to whoever's going strongest contender at the next PPV. Wouldn't mind if any of the following beat him for the title: Cena, Orton, Jericho, Mark Henry, HHH, Ziggler, Lesnar, Bryan, even Ryback (after at least another month or two of push). Not a fan of all those guys, but any of them would be acceptable imo.
Other things that'd help:
Improve the mid card. Too often do I do other activities mid-show because nothing's going on. I don't even watch it and/or switch the channel because it's obvious most of the show is filler except around the hours. So you can almost completely tune out minutes 15-45 on every hour (exception: the opening promo and return from commercial secondary promo), because you know the odds nothing will be happening are about 80%.
Ways to do that: More fueds. Fueds that matter too, with actual purpose, not "uh, you beat me today so now I'll be sour for 3 weeks and only won't be sour until you beat me 2 more times including at a PPV, now I'll forget about it" crap that we usually get. More vying for the other titles. IC title division LOOKED like it was being spiced up last PPV, now it's back to nothing again? wtf? All the IC title contenders got ramrodded into the tag team division which is being dominated by Kane/Bryan who get 80% of all tag team air time.
Hate to say it, but dispirse the tag team division a bit and put them in the IC division. Miz needs to promo on someone, someone needs to do some shit to embarrass Miz. Fans need to rally around some shithead face like Zack Ryder or Sin Cara so it actually would seem like an event for the IC title to be gained.
Need a new stable, even if it's just a mid card stable like the Nation of Domination was, and not a main event stable like the Corporate Ministry or NWO. The stable should probably be a heel stable, and should almost always win. Otherwise, it's pointless.
Sandow should probably either be a part of it or straight up lead it. He has the charisma to do it. Rhodes is already a memeber and is a good worker. Perhaps add other "smart heel wrestlers" like Ziggler and Otunga could be in it. Perhaps Eve Torres could be their "inside 'man'" to get matches they want. In the end, Ziggler should get "turned on" and attacked, and go face (all stables should have an inevitable purpose, and I think this would help Ziggler get over, similar to the the way The Rock did when the Nation turned on him. I remember hating Rock until he got turned on, then began liking him a lot shortly after as the "rogue heel" that other heels would attack). Which leads me into my next point
Push Ziggler already. He is more than deserving of it. He needs to work on his mic skills yes. . .but they aren't terrible, and he's good in pre-taped backstage segments. He doesn't need to trot out and talk for 15 minutes like Punk because he puts on better matches than Punk. Spotlight his in-ring stuff (like with HBK) and limit his mic time. You can get big that way. . .just look at Ryback. Already getting over big even with that embarrassing botch.
Speaking of which, Ryback needs a different finisher for fat guys like Tensai. Sheamus can't go the Celtic Cross on anybody big since it's one of the most difficult moves to pull off (try shoulder pressing even half of 380 lbs and see how heavy it is), so they gave him the Brogue Kick. Ryback needs to either just do a regular fireman's carry and march around into a hard samoan drop instead of his "marching high Angle Slam" thing, or the big clothesline needs to be pushed harder as a legit finisher. I can see the value in a Ryback type guy, WWE needs him to not fuck up his finisher.
No more announcer matches.
Possibly move Punk to Smackdown (after losing WWE title) and Orton back to Raw.
Better use of Lesnar.
Not misuse The Rock when he comes back for his Royal Rumble title challenge.
etc etc.
List is pretty big. There's tons of shit they can do to improve the show. Anything more than the little they're doing right. Right now all I really like about Raw is that new guys like Cesaro, Sandow, and Ryback are getting pushed.
Speaking of Cesaro, time for a real fued.
Overall, WWE needs a more serious tone to it imo. And just not feel so much like an episode of Power Rangers or Transformers where the good guys always win and are booked as much stronger than the bad guys.
My Idea to Save Raw:
- Randy Orton,The Miz back to the Top
- Dolph Ziggler,Wade Barrett get a Huge push
- CM Punk lose the WWE Champion to Someone, Make a New Stable.
- Ryback keep it strong
- Find a Good Raw GM replace AJ Lee
- Change the Awful Raw stage and Awful Raw theme
The Raw stage and opening doesn't bother me that much, and I don't think Barret deserves a push (many other guys are more deserving), but I agree with the rest of it. Good ideas overall.
