WWE Star Kofi Kingston and R-Truth spoke on bullying at a rally in Sydney, Australia on Friday. Kingston told the kids in attendance that he was a bully at school. He said: "I'm not going to lie, I used to be a bully, when I was your age, I wanted to fit in and be in with the cool crowd. I would come home crying to my mom every day because she named me Kofi and people were making fun of my name and I wanted to be called Joey. Don't ever let anybody make you feel bad because you're different- being different is great."
R-Truth added "I wasn't a bully, I was one of the persons who would tell, you can call me a tattletale or snitch. I want to put a stop to it, I think inside every human being there is good."
WWE is pushing their BE A STAR camping hard of late, including to their International markets.

lol I never would have thought Kofi would be a bully in school. I would have guessed Truth before him even tho I met R-Truth and he was an extremely nice guy. Thoughts?

Oh my god, he was a bully! So were a lot of kids, most grew out of it! God his anti-bullying shit is stupid. Yes bullys suck, but a bunch of celebs getting into it isn't going to solve anything. Neither did the anti-drug stuff in the early 90s.

People speaking out against bullying is not a bad thing, nor is it stupid. What is stupid is WWE getting on the bandwagon so much when so many of the things on display in their shows could easily be classed as bullying.

The Be A Star campaign gets a lot of hate on here, but I'm more than willing to put up with it as long as we get to see that commercial with David Arquette at the start of it looking like he's hungover saying bullies are "not nice" every week. That shit always cracks me up.

Not surprising. Bullying stems from insecurities and most bullies were bullied themselves. It's the same old cycle of toxic behavior. Kofi also apparently dealt with some medical conditions as a kid which contributed to some of the quirks of his appearance. He probably had it rough.

I really don't want WWE to turn Kofi heel. I'm just afraid they'll book him like Dolph and job him out constantly. WWE's booking for heels are terrible. Plus, he's one of the few good legit faces in WWE.
Can't see him heel either.

Although if he does go Heel I have a good theme right here, by the same artist that brought us SOS, Collie Buddz:
