I was wondering about this, like, do they have the order of elimination and how long roughly some one is meant to be in for all sorted out beforehand ? Obviously comedy one second eliminations like Santino are fully instructed, but I was curious as to how much of the rest was

I read Lance Storms article on this very subject. He talks about how every entry is told when he eneteres and how long for then you're jobs done. However it's up to your imagination how you're eliminated. Best I could pick up from the article anyways.

I've always thought that it'd be a very hard match to script fully, I've always thought a wrestler would get told, for example Orton

"You're going to come in at Number 20, RKO everyone in the ring, then toss everyone out"

But then the rest get a few instructions, number, what spots they need to hit, and roughly how long to stay in, the rest being up to them.

Yeah you "design" your own elimination. Paul London said he got buried because he "stole the show" with his elimination.
Source? I always thought it was because he smiled in that one backstage skit with Vince before he got blown up.

From what I understand, his "stealing the show" with his Rumble elimination was part of his burial, and his smiling during the VKM sketch pretty much was what sealed his doom.

As for the Rumble being scripted, I always had been under the belief that only certain aspects (who gets eliminated when and by whom) were scripted, and that the fighting in the ring is usually improvised.

the source is Paul London himself in his shoot interview with Kendrick from Highspots
I'm curious to see this. So anyway...

THIS was what he got in trouble for? If anything he made Snitsky look like a beast with that selling. How the hell do you get in trouble for doing your job well?

The high spots and eliminations are scripted. Everything in between are improvised most likely. How many times have we seen the half assed one leg over the top rope only to give up after spot? lol

Ever noticed when a lot of guys get thrown out when somebody is coming to the ring and the cameras are focused on them? This happens a lot and i think its when the guys have gone over their time spot in the rumble? I also think its scripted on the basis "you will elimate this guy and that guy and so on and you must be out of the rumble when guy X is coming out"

They have to script the amount of time each wrestler stays in, in order to have the pre-arranged spots that often require an almost empty ring. Just look at last year with the Khali-Beth Phoenix spot. Other examples would include the 3 entries of Mick Foley, and the year that Rikishi and 2 Cool ended up dancing in an empty rumble ring.

Oh, and of course the whole Kane-Drew Carey moment.

I bet is just simple instructions like:

demanded: Waste time with Wrestler A - done: both Fight in a corner
demanded: strungle against wrestler B - done: both fight in the middle of the ring
demanded: Eliminate Wrestler C - done: surprise kick in the back in the apron
demanded: Wobble Around the Ring - done: crawl before being eliminated

etc. etc.
