Can't say I particularly care until it happens. Ian always seems to announce a big tournament with huge names, and the names always either have "travel issues" or the show is cancelled.
I feel like they charge a lot of money to see the show so even if they don't have many people they get a decent gate.Does this thing draw?
The last one I saw (Many years ago) had guys killing themselves in front of about 100 people in a parking lot.
I feel like they once were something like that but as far as I know IWA:MS is fully independent of any other company.Say, what is the IWA? Some kind of governing body?
IWA was a loose bunch of hardcore promotions around 2004-2005 but i think their only ties were the name and wrestling style. You had IWA:MS (MidSouth), IWA.DS (Deep South), IWA:EC (East Coast), IWA:Japan and IWA.Puerto Rico. And in the past few years i've also seen the names MidWest and Florida, but those 2 are new ones i think.Say, what is the IWA? Some kind of governing body?
I don't think IWA in Puerto Rico and IWA in Japan had any link with the U.S. indies of the same name.IWA was a loose bunch of hardcore promotions around 2004-2005 but i think their only ties were the name and wrestling style. But other than IWA:MS (1999-2005) none of them have ever been relevant. Especially IWA.DS was atrocious. These IWA promotions are kinda the main reason why people look down on hardcore/deathmatches.
As far as deathmatches go, IWA-MS was the most relevant. IWA-EC had a few good Masters of Pain tournaments ( if not all of them) and DS had the Carnage Cup, which is the lowest on the deathmatch tournament totem pole.IWA was a loose bunch of hardcore promotions around 2004-2005 but i think their only ties were the name and wrestling style.
