I just never understood why the WWE never thought to have Ross somehow put him over. There was the perfect chance last year when Ross was feuding with Cole. I really thought Swagger was going to turn "face", and destroy Cole for Ross. Does anyone remember this? Swagger came out because he was the one who trained Michael Cole for his match vs Jim Ross. I just feel like sticking up for Jim Ross the night Swagger was announced as the man who was training Cole for his match vs J.R. Cole's heat was at it's highest, and I think the fans would have really gotten behind Swagger in this case.

We all know how much Jim Ross loved Dr. Death Steve Williams, but what about the fact that Jim Ross is an avid Sooners fan, and Jack Swagger graduated from that University as a two sport star, and Bachelors in Finance. Where is the Sooner love, or common ground? One would think that Swagger would be the apple in Jim's eye, and I understand that Ross discovered Swagger as well. It just seems to me that Swagger could be Jim Ross' new Dr. Death if he were booked properly. No, I don't mean that literally, but I mean Swagger could be that guy Ross is always backing no matter what, sort of like a father figure.

Re: Jim Ross, and Jack Swagger?

he puts him over weekly on his blog. its sickening the bum love that he has for swagger, when everyone else in the world can see how much the guy sucks.

J R is always praising Swagger, because he knows good talent. Just watch DB vs Swagger. J.R noted DB and Swagger like a million bucks.

Re: Jim Ross, and Jack Swagger?

at the time i dont think they wanted swagger as a face...otherwise the turn would have happened. i like swagger, as someone else pointed out, he "sucks" because he's used so improperly. but that holds true for the majority of the roster in general so its no surprise.

I don't know where people get this viewpoint of Swagger that he's some kind of ugly retard goofball. Speaking as a straight male he's very much a good-looking guy with a lot of natural charisma if you ask me. Someone backstage seems to have it out for him because ever since he left ECW they've been screwing with him.

Re: Jim Ross, and Jack Swagger?

Picture this. Jim Ross returns to Raw on the 1000th episode, and is attacked by Lord Tensai for no real reason other than to set up a run in by none other than Jack Swagger. Have Swagger come running out in street clothes, wearing his Sooners T-shirt. He takes down Tensai in a wrestling style take down, and puts him in some new submission move that the WWE Universe has never seen before, and it's called the Buffalo Sleeper. I would suggest the Rolling Olympic Hell, but Tensai is to big for that one.

They gave him a world title reign and put him over Jericho, Edge, and Orton.

Re: Jim Ross, and Jack Swagger?

I could just see the T-shirts now saying "Tap out Sooner than later", because it's a pun on The Sooners. I just feel like the next time fans will be paying a bit more attention may be on Raw's 1000th episode. This would be the time for a proper face turn for him. Swagger vs Tensai feud for Summer Slam? I will say this though. Swagger needs to add some more submissions to his arsenal, and find another submission finisher. Daniel Bryan can't be the only submission specialists character wise.

I agree with you completely OP, missed opportunity there. JR does think very highly for Swagger though, and is always praising him in his blogs and tweets.
