Let's break down what we just saw on Summerslam and, as a bonus, we'll highlight what it proved about the IWC.
1) People on this forum have been whining like stinky-diapered babies that Santino made a mockery of the US title. Even before SS officially began, Cesaro defeated Santino. For those trying to keep count, that's one less reason for WF members to whine.
2) Jericho, one of the darlings of WF, finally snagged a win on the big stage in a very solid (though admittedly not perfect) match.
3) WF members have been throwing tantrums because their deity, Daniel Bryan, hasn't won every match. Tonight he defeats Kane cleanly.
4) After the above results, know-it-alls on this forum declared, "Yup, Cena's winning tonight." Don't believe me? Go read the official thread. So-called "experts" here always hope you won't actually go back and read their oh-so-insightful predictions. Oh, I guess I should get to the point: Cena didn't win.
5) No divas match, no Ryback squash, no Funkasaurus, no silly weddings, no fat slob Tensai. These are ALL good things, and all things WF members complained about in previous PPVs. Instead we got a lot of focus on actual wrestling (that IS the product, remember?)
6) A main event outcome that nobody expected, period. A "big four" PPV never ends with the heel winning cleanly -- except tonight. Unpredictability is the best part about pro wrestling, and that's what we got tonight. Also, even though street-fight type matches aren't my cup of tea, so many WF members are STILL masturbating over the HHH/Undertaker matches which were just as void of actual wrestling as tonight's main event. Go ahead and deny it, and you'll know you're full of crap.
So with all these things in mind, what's the early reaction of WF? Whining. And more whining. And more whining. And more puffing out chests and bragging about streaming the PPV and how this was shit, blah blah blah.
I am not a fan of Vince McMahon -- at all -- but I have to give him credit for one thing. He is systematically exposing the IWC for what it is: a haven for miserable people who are only happy when they have reasons to complain. They just got a minimum of 6 major things they've been clamoring for and they still declare a PPV to be shit. The WWE would be foolish to try to appease the cynical, dark corners of the Internet. These people cannot be pleased.
Audio transcripts of this post will be available shortly, and I highly recommend them for you've just been schooled. Class dismissed.
