So, I just got done watching Arn Anderson Vs the Renegade. (Renegade was an Ultimate Warrior rip off. Very cool. Why not rip off the Warrior? The Warrior is Awesome and Jim Helwig sucks. Rip him off like crazy, I say.)
Renegade was a disappointment. This match is widely panned. Eric Bischoff said they should have done it in 15 seconds to hide the Renegade's lack of experience. Ric Flair said they never should have done it at all because the Renegade wasn't ready.
I don't know, I've watched this match just now I thought it was pretty good. Wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible. Renegade hit a couple of cool power moves and Arn himself? Excellent! Killer Spine Buster. Absolutely killer.
Not one botch that I've found. I honestly don't know why this match is so widely hated.
And I also don't know why the Renegade didn't go on to bigger things. How bad could he have been?
There were some issues with his outfit.
The "R" on his face was cool. But it should have been on the other sidE too. The R's on his shoulders were stupid. He didn't have the Warriors entrance and his whole color scheme sucked.
But I was rooting for him. I really dug him. I'll go further and say the wrestling world needed him. The idea was too good. It's the Warrior without Jim Helwigg.
And supposedly the Warrior sued? Why? It wasn't that blatant a rip off. It wasn't like he was shaking the ropes or anything.
That's like suing Hulk Hogan for ripping of Superstar Billy Graham.
Anyhoozle, thoughts?
