WWE should stop trying to be like low end indy feds like ROH who don't make a profit barely. WWE/WWF has always been base on characters and should get back to it. Wrestling as a whole always had characters that drew you in and the wrestling was secondary. But hey what do I know only the small niche this is awesome chatting fans are left in a shit era.
ROH has characters and storylines, and they're better than WWE's.

You really are the worst poster on this site.

The product isn't bad, it's just NEVER presented. I mean I sure loved watching Korakuen Hall clips from February on their big ... what was it? May? April? Build up for their PPV. I didn't even know Colt Cabana was facing Lethal for the title UNTIL I SAW THE PPV.

The people you listed are excellent, and RoH is great, but it's evident a lot of people are unhappy with it.
Okay, I do understand that complaint. That tends to bother me as fan as well, wish they could get it within a week or so.

It's better than it was. 18 months ago it was virtually unwatchable from a production standpoint. One episode literally took place in someone's office warehouse (a match with Jushin Liger). Another episode featured a ring mat with visible seams, and the only real lighting was a spotlight blazing down on the ring. Fortunately Sinclair finally invested some money in the production recently, but it truly looked awful for a while in the past.
OK fair enough. My biggest complaint was lighting, you could barely see the crowd.

I also gave LU a shot but stopped 10 mins in. really great production value and everything, but the masked characters ruin it for me. If every person wasn't wearing a mask, It would be easier to differentiate characters. It just felt like "meh, everyone is the same. Masked guy #1 , #2 , etc"

I never gave NJPW or the other promotions a shot, they just seem to focus purely on wrestling. I'm looking for something like a series with continuity and characters (not luchadors)

TNA. Last EP was broken Matt and Lashley as champion. TNA can be good if you fast forward the filler part
WWE. Stories progress very slow. You can watch one episode a month and remain fully up to date. Again, I fast forward through most of the filler.

I might give ROH another try. I just find wrestling really boring unless the fight is serious (like a street fight or brawl) so I usually fast forward through the wrestling and only watch the finishes and promo segments.

The only shows i never fast forwarded thru was WWF attitude era year 2000. Everything was good, each segment gave you a reason to give a damn. Lol.

Sure, If you compare how the part-timers in the WWE go over the full time talent, similarly to how all the NJPW talent go over the ROH talent then yes WWE is slowly becoming ROH. As both have storylines and focus on wrestling.

If ROH has storylines and characters now and TNA has storylines and characters and LU has storylines and characters, what exactly are the people who hate sports entertainment watching?

WWE is ruining their product trying to cater to a fan base that just wants to see "happy to be here" dudes wrasslin', but it appears that fan base doesn't really exist. Where are all the people who thought the CWC was the greatest thing ever and said "see, this is what real wrestling is supposed to be like"?
ROH has ALWAYS had storylines and characters, some of the best In wrestling history actually. I don't know where this belief that they and other Indies don't have storylines comes from but it's bullshit.

It probably comes from certain fans constantly complaining about promos, over-the-top gimmicks and any storyline with more soap than "I'm the best wrestler, I want your title". When you hear people complain about core elements of wrestling and then promote real wrestling promotions, you assume those promotions must not have the things they complain about.

Well, it REALLY sucks that some fans have that belief and dismiss other companies because "LOL It's not WWE so who gives a shit?" That mentality is the biggest thing I hate about wrestling fans, at least watch the other shows before you talk shit.

As for the "I'm the best wrestler, I want your title". argument, yes a lot of promotions especially ROH use it, but they also have blood feuds, and tag teams going after other teams just for a shot at the #1 contendership. And ALL the belts mean something and they have real feuds that you can care about behind them.

That's why I'm one of the fans on here who's always trying to get people, yourself included to watch a new promotion and expand your horizons just a little bit. You might find a storyline that draws you like never before. Like when I first heard about PROGRESS, people were talking it up and how the Jimmy Havoc storyline was one of the best they had ever seen, so I checked it out and I loved it. To sum it up in short. Jimmy is a hardcore wrestler who was booked by PROGRESS under the agreement that he wasn't allowed to have hardcore matches, and he had to "wrestle" He tried his best but he kept getting drawn into hardcore matches and the promoter kept warning him not do it. Jimmy had a match with Sabre Jnr. and Nigel McGuinness as the guest referee (Nigel is an Indy legend who had incredible matches with Bryan/Joe/Aries in ROH. He ended up getting signed by WWE but a shoulder injury made them back off, and he ended up in TNA where he got injured and he was forced to retire. After which he started trying to get wrestlers to not use weapons anymore and wrestle normal matches. So having him ref a Havoc match was a HUGE deal ) The match was great and ZSJ won. Afterwards Nigel put Jimmy over as a "real" wrestler and told him he didn't need to destroy his body to prove it. But the very next show Jimmy was back in a hardcore match and was destroying himself again. He snapped the next show and beat the shit out of the promoter, won the world title and held it hostage for nearly two years. It's a truly remarkable storyline and one that is only scratching the surface in terms of Indy wrestling. ROH has TONS of slow build, overarching feuds and stories that I could spend hours writing about, but everyone is better off watching them.

Other promotions like PWG/CHIKARA/CZW/NJPW/Shimmer/Beyond and dozens and dozens of others are disproving that mentality I spoke of earlier wrong, all that is needed is more fans out there watching it.

Oh and as for WWE turning into "ROH" No they aren't doing that, they are simply trying to appeal to a different fan base whilst trying to keep the old one happy. I say give it some more time and they will achieve their overall goal

That story sounds decent but the reality is, for most people, investing in a new promotion is too much work, especially if you don't already have an attachment to any of the talents. The key to getting new viewers is to steal talent they are already attached to. A lot of people switched from WWE to WCW when Hogan, Savage, the Outsiders, etc. signed, I switched from WCW to WWE when Jericho signed. If ROH or LU could steal away one of my favorite wrestlers then I'd have no choice but to watch but I dled the first season of LU and couldn't make it past episode 4 because I was just to disconnected from everything that was happening.

I respect and understand that and it's fair enough. I never had that problem because I'll watch anything and I LOVE wrestling so I can and do get into every show I watch. Just give me a match and decent crowd and 99% of the time I'm in.

Like I said I just get annoyed at those who refuse to watch anything but WWE on the basis of it's not worth their time. Like, you watched LU didn't enjoy it, at least you took the time to give it a shot.

Hell no. ROH has no production value. I tried to watch an episode but had to stop 5 mins in because it looks so cheap. It felt like playing an old RPG game after I just finished Skyrim. It's no WCW Nitro, WWE or old TNA. I want fire works, big ass titantron and dynamite!
You want fireworks and lights, I want a wrestling show that doesn't insult my intelligence. Luckily, I get that from ROH, Smackdown and Lucha Underground. Wish Raw would get their shit together so I could watch again.

WWE is not becoming "indie" they are just doing what they always do, making a profit of the current trends, they did it in the 80s when they stole all the talent from the competition (AWA and NWA), they did it in the late 90s when they signed all the "mistreated" midcard talent from WCW, and now they are doing it again: signing all the big names from the indies.

And saying ROH is trash is absurd, clearly that company has different product value than WWE, and caters to a different public but you can't deny that they have a sense to recognize talent before they become big, the same way original ECW was mismanaged but they were the first to signed talent who later become big names and legends of this business (Benoit, Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, RVD, Stone Cold, etc).

To bad it's not facts and only your opinion which holds the same weight as monkey piss. Until these shit indy ROH wrestlers because household names you speaking highly of and draw your opinion doesn't mean much because your opinion isn't facts.

You're the biggest crybaby on this site who always get ban and butt hurt because no one shares the same opinion as you. whine whine whine crybaby

So ROH having storylines and characters is an opinion now? What was Danielson/McGuinness, what was ROH vs CZW, what was Briscoe/Lethal, what was Whitmer/Corino? What exactly is Dalton Castle, what are The Briscoes, what is BULLET CLUB? I distinctly remember them being storylines and characters. You do understand the difference between opinions and facts right? I mean, that one ban you mentioned was for me calling you an idiot but you really don't make a good case to disprove me.

And whether people from a certain company draw or not has no reflection on whether said company has storylines or characters. That's a non sequitur. I honestly don't know what's worse about your posts, is it the ignorance, the bad grammar or the logical fallicies? It's really hard to decide...

oh I know, it's when you call people out for moaning when 90% of your post count is you whinging about "dem dam indy midgetz." Hypocrisy's one of my buttons.

That's what it feels like. They have definitely focused more on wrestling matches over everything else now more than ever. It's one of the reasons why their ratings are at an all time low too.
