It is the most predictable move in the WWE right now. It's always "outta nowhere" but yet you see it miles away. Orton used to be one of my favorites and now he is very plain and boring. He needs a completely new gimmick or something.

Ironic isn't it. An out of nowhere move is the most predictable. But seriously I don't think it's predictable, just the way Orton has been setting up for it for a while is predictable. He can still surprise you though.

Having him not main event would help. That way, when you see that Smackdown has about 90 seconds or two minutes left to go, you wouldn't know in your heart of hearts that an RKO is incoming.

Maybe he should start using a second finishing move, one with a lot of setup - say, some pumphandle variation. That way, he could really use the RKO as a true 'out of nowhere' move. As it is now, you just know he's going to win his matches and when it's about time to end, the RKO's probably incoming. So, second finisher!

You can't just a hit a finisher "OUT OF NOWHERE".
A finisher has to have a taunt before.
Unless it's a counter.(Like that jump of Bourne's reversed into an RKO)

why, OP? That's 50% of the reason I look forward to Orton; that and his in 49% ring ability. I look forward to 1% of his mic ability when he talks about voices and getting angry.

He should start reversing moves into the RKO more often, that would help. Great example is his WHC with Benoit at Summerlslam, its one of my favorite RKO outta no where moments, i remember not seeing that coming at all, and being seriously shocked win he won.

Yep. Agree here. You just know if he hasn't hit an RKO and the show is ending, it's coming. Not a bad thing at all, it's his finisher, but not really good for unpredictability.

Great finishers don't always need a taunt. This isn't a video game. Things like 'Takers cut throat and HBK tuning up the band are great, but the effect of the Sweet Chin Music is better when it's out of nowhere.

Same as when he faced undertaker and hit the RKO. Genuinely thought he would win.

For those who doubt the effect of this move as spontaneous and unpredictable need to look at the Diamond Cutter. In essence, exact same move, but DDP would hit it from anywhere. He had bases like a standing headlock or when the opponent was on the second rope, and that went over big, but when he twisted out of a jackhammer or reversed a german suplex the crowd exploded. Just look at the way the crowd exploded for the Shooting Star Press into the RKO, or when whoever it was springboarded themselves into. Both were ridiculous and set up simply for the RKO, but both looked amazing. The ground and pound before hand is more of a thing he should do to set up The Punt, after an RKO.

Nothing wrong with hitting a move out of no where. Unless it's always, which is the case here. (Reversing the Chokeslam at Mania 21 was fucking awesome) The RKO used to be pretty cool when Orton would wait for it, and kinda jump into it. Made the move look more effective.

Excackatiggly. Orton should beat his opponents down and then polish them off with the RKO. When was the last time he did that against a worthy opponent?
He's not been in a main storyline or have a big push in a while.
You'll see more of that next year when he has a storyline again.

Or even at NOC. unless hes putting Ziggler over.
