I'm a wrestling fan! If we're not your thing, check out something else. But.. You'll be back, I assure you, you'll be back! #OUDK

Road Dogg said on 11/22 that fans would always be back. So I pose the question...no matter how bad things get, will you always be back?

My own answer is...yes, if things improve. But will fans always be back no matter how mundane the promotion gets? Will they be back even if Barney the Dinosaur guest hosts RAW, and gives a lesson on love and caring to Stardust?

Here's my point.

Rick Berman and Branon Braga thought that Star Trek fans would be back as they continued to put out repetitive storylines in their latter television series Voyager. But the fans did not return for Enterprise, and Trek was blown out of the water when former writer and producer Ron Moore reinvented the genre with the reimagined Battlestar Galactica. Those fans went away and did not come back, and Enterprise became the only Trek series since the 1980s not to go 7 seasons.

General Motors thought that they had the American market locked down, despite the quality vehicles that Japan was producing and political pressures to make smaller cars during the 1970s. But they continued to produce largely garbage, making a raft of poorly designed, brutalist rustbuckets that eroded
their market share to the point of financial peril. General Motors thought that their buyers would come back. It didn't. They haven't.

George Lucas had his vision of the Star Wars prequel trilogy and created The Phantom Menace. His vision was out of step with the market, and where Episode 1 grossed $474M, its followup did only $310M due to bad feeling resulting from the creative failure of the first movie.

So is Road Dogg right? Or does he take the audience for granted?

Say that to the fans who left after the Attitude Era, the fans who quit watching and moved on to UFC.. No, they don't always come back.
Exactly :lol He sounds like a pompous idiot. Sitting there mouthing off when your company has lost millions of viewers over the last 15 years who most definitely did not come back.

I have to say that this is true about me. No matter how many times I rant about how bad the product is, I always come back and I never canceled my subscription to the WWE Network, but everyone is not like me. While 1 person won't stop watching, you have millions that will unless you change your product for the better, so he is not right. If you improve your product, then they'll definitely come back, but if you keep going in the same direction you're going in now, they're definitely not going to come back.

Always be back implies that I'll be coming back if the product stays the same or gets worse. Considering the fact I used to watch Nitro, Thunder, RAW, Heat, Saturday Night, Superstars, back in the AE and the fact that I only watch a ppv if I happen to not be busy that day nowadays...I don't think I'll ever "come back" to watching more than a ppv and hour of RAW unless it gets significantly better. Guy's out of touch and the ratings just prove him wrong.

However, I do have the Network because I like to watch old school stuff a few times a month and it's only $9.99!

Yup, he's talked a lot of shit about HHH in particular. Personally I think the only reason he's even back is because he was a part of "HHH's faction" aka DX, and they want them back on TV from time to time, so everyone is very chummy right now lol.

He's wrong. 100% so.

I was obsessed with everything wrestling from 98-2005. I got sick of it all at one point. Stupid storylines, like Katie Vick, among other nonsense made me embarrassed to even watch WWE - Especially when my fiance moved in with me.

I became busy on Monday nights between work, college, and countless other things. Raw went from every week to once in a while to just not caring at all.

A coworker hyped up the stuff going on with CM Punk's "Pipebomb" in 2011 and I became a casual viewer for a little bit. Though it dropped off again.

I came back out of curiosity during the Bryan/HHH Mania story. I was always a fan of stables, so I was digging the Shield and Wyatts (both groups I had never seen before). Nevermind how great NXT is. I'm back as a regular viewer.

I might not always be a regular viewer.
