I feel like in our current society making WWE fun or possibly even another boom is impossible.

We live in age where we simply know too much (wrestling spoilers), we get bored easily storylines and wrestlers, and we just complain and complain about whatever WWE is doing. Also, everything has been exposed in wrestling at this point so nothing feels fresh anymore.

Also, we have such variety forms of entertaintments (games, movies, TV shows, whatever social media, millions of videos from Youtube, endless web surfing....) it's just too difficult for us to concentrate on wrestling anymore. (Would you rather watch a good movie for 2 hours or watch one episode of medicore Raw for 3 hours? You tell me...)

So do you think our society is to blame for? Or is WWE just not stepping up?

WWE is not stepping up. Lucha Underground, and Ring of Honor, PWG, NJPW are all very entertaining and even a product that WWE owns in NXT is entertaining, it's literally them. They HAVE the talent, but they're so afraid of stepping on toes and hurting feelings now that they are publicly traded that they just won't do anything of exciting. Plus now that Vince is the King of Wrestling with literally no competition (and when there is he just signs them now) he has no worries. Hakuna Matata.

our society is too blame for everything. leaders should have the right to make things the way they see fit. instead we go by majority rule. the problem is that the majority of the majority are peasants that don't know better. these are people that barely wash themselves. how can we trust these people to clean the nation when they can't clean themself? i say put them in the ring with lions and tigers and call it entertainment.

Another "it's the fans fault" post.

You may as well be trolling.
I was actually expecting the weekly "bring back the attitude era" thread when I opened this, I guess it's yet to come.

I'm starting to think with the sheer amount of ad breaks in Raw now keeping a consistent good product might be impossible for them.. We get a good opening segment or two a month, main events that often generate enough hype people forgive the drek that lead to it so things limp along.. But seriously, how can anyone put on good TV when they run ads nearly literally every 5 minutes and often full sets of ads back to back after single video packages and a few words from the clucking chickens behind the announce table?

And speaking of.. The announcing is cripplingly awful.. I tried to be forgiving.. but those days are over. That new smackdown guy in two short hours just put out better work than all of them out together last year.. Time will only tell how long it takes Vince to break him.. But tonight, when Lawler wasn't clucking it was sublime by comparison..

Actually it's all your fault that WWE is so terrible, haven't you heard?

It's directly our fault that they have no idea how to build stars, book matches, or create a coherent and entertaining programme.

And those advert breaks. All our fault.

Somebody put us in our place, please. Stupid fans we are.

A boom period is always possible if wrestling reinvents itself in a way that intrigues. That's obviously never going to happen with Vince at the helm and, with the nepotism that runs rampant in the company, it may never happen in WWE. Fans have only "seen it all" because they just continue to give us a watered down version of what they've been doing since 1998: someone in the McMahon family bullying whoever is the top face.

So many threads in this forum about how horrible WWE is. It's not society, or whatever other excuse you can come up with. It's people who continue to watch and pay for this garbage that are the reason WWE is how it is today. If you don't like it, don't watch it and definitely stop paying for it. Other promotions don't have this problem. General conversations are positive and it's fun. If you like what WWE is putting out then fine. Let the numbers speak for themselves and let them figure it out. It's our job to be entertained, whether through WWE or someone else. Find your niche and move on.

Obviously, I'll suggest Lucha Underground because they completely reinvented wrestling and I love it, but for others it might be something else. Go explore and stop making threads like this!

More entertainment options, changing fan base, and creative deficiencies are all factors. But another big factor is the talent acquisition system. They just collect people with potential, put them in a homogeneous environment, and the potential can never be realized. This is not how people like Stone Cold, Chris Jericho, or CM Punk came about.

Spoilers have existed forever. Social media is not some new invention. And video games, TV and movies have existed for a long time too. So those are terrible excuses. The reason people are tuning out or complaining is because the product sucks, simple as that.

It's easy to blame someone else though. Vince wants to put a shit product and continue to hold his best talents back while pushing his man crushes, be my guess. I'm smart enough to have stopped watching. Plenty of good stuff out there to entertain me with, I don't need to watch a 3 hour borefest every Monday that I already know won't entertain me. And I damn sure won't pay for it.

Maybe, but anyone in their right mind will know that what has been dished up in recent years bar a few great moments has been nothing short of not good enough.

Blame what you want but the product is simply not good enough.

Wrestling is limited show at first place due the facts every storyline will end up fighting unlike series or movies. And in-ring tactics also limited because they can't used unnatural element like pure fiction do. Nowadays it even more limited due the facts that wrestling is scripted is common knowledge unlike past. That made people guessing storyline much easier. If I don't know wrestling is scripted I might believe Heath Slater has a chance to win Royal Rumble but when I know it's impossible. Not to mention wrestling fans right now is kinda sensitive. Remember what happened to Paige and Charlotte segment not long ago, imagine if that happens in attitude era nobody would be mad. Heel in real life would do much worse than that and people can't handle such a simple tactics. So what heel right now could do for heelish? Bash crowds, all talk and being coward? It's not bad if they don't repeat different heel do same thing over and over. What's different between Rollins and Punk heel title run beside Heyman. WWE is forced to limited in a limited business. Of course it stale way easier than other fictions. Even fictions like tv series can get stale then it much harder for wrestling to keep it interesting.
