Please. Omega is a far superior performer in every aspect of being a professional wrestler than Rollins. He sells very well and registers that the damage that he takes from his opponents.

I don't quite remember Omega having "broken ribs" and doing outside the ring drives/planchas, off the top rope moves in and out of the ring, doing a superplex into a falcon arrow, or supposedly having "bad knees/quads" and doing flips and pedigrees as if nothing happened.

Watch Omega's matches sometime; especially his NJPW run, he's probably the best wrestler we have today if not at least top 3.
Cut the crap he does the same exact thing Seth did last night. Don’t use kayfabe broken ribs as an out. All those matches with Okada were 40 plus minutes of huge spot after huge spot with the same kind of selling you see everywhere now. The NXT guys same deal. And don’t get wrong I’m fine with it because it’s entertaining as hell but that’s so blatantly dishonest to praise Kenny in the same breath as trashing Seth. They’re so similar. Because one is Mr WWE and the other is the darling of the “cool indy scene”.

Yeah I would put Kenny and Seth in the same category in terms of their wrestling styles. I rate Kenny higher but he ain't no saint either when it comes to the selling.

After the match with Brock at Summerslam is it time to admit that Rollins sucks in the ring? How can you be considered good in the ring when you are not able to sell an injury? Near the end of the match when Rollins did 3 suicide dives in a row despite having broken ribbs was so ridiculous. People used to give so much shit to someone like Jeff Hardy calling him a spot monkey and bad in the ring and everything yet Rollins does the exact same thing and maybe he's even worse. Atleast Jeff Hardy was good at selling. I guess psychology doesn't matter in this era and its not required to be "good in the ring".
Never.

Honestly, I don't want to see any Rollins fans calling Ospreay, Ricochet, the Young Bucks or people like that "spot monkey who doesn't have psichology" or "bad wrestlers" after last night, I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing, the guy barely sold shit, the guy who was coughing blood 2 weeks ago, who was basically dead at the end of the go home RAW, come on. AJ, Cena, Bryan, Taker, Reigns, all at 100% couldn't beat Lesnar clean and this geek beat him with "bad ribs", get the fuck out of here :gtfo. And he dares to say on interviews that he doesn't want intergender matches because "those are not believable and WWE tries to believable" or some shit like that, give me a fucking break.

The defenders have been grasping at straws today it’s been pretty entertaining.

I just laugh at all the folks that say he can't sell. He is easily one of the best sellers they've ever had when he needs to be.

I mean.. you're talking about the same Seth Rollins where *everybody* on these forums told me during his runup to the Kingslayer match where he had to sell the leg, that the leg was in fact still injured. That it was a shoot. LOL. He *SOLD* your asses.

Now, in a Brock Lesnar match, you may get to the point where you have a choice between performing the move safely, or trying to sell it while performing the move sketchy. He always goes for the first, because the last thing you want to do is injure yourself in a BL match. But hey... he misses a couple sells and a few dough boys on here claim he's the worst seller since The Great Khali lolololol.

If ring psychology is to blame, blame the WWE. These matches are laid out before hand and WWE tends to have their Main Events scored to the finale of The 1812 Overture.. going back to the days of the slobberknockers of Austin, HHH, and Rock. There isn't a fucking thing Rollins can do about that except land the moves on cue. If you don't like it, blame the promotion, but I can fucking tell you right now if a Rollins-BL match was scored to The Girl From Ipanema like some of you crazy folk want, it would not only get booed out of the arena, but shredded by the fans... including each and every one of you. You'd just choose a different axe to be grinding with.. because its less the match and more the wrestler you just don't like. And it just goes to show that they can put anyone out there and you'd probably take a dump on them.

Rollins sold well. Touched his "injured" area multiple times and was out of air during the whole match.
Its fucking wrestling. Its fantasy and not real.

If a wrestler would punch someone nobody could still stand up but somehow everybody sells it for a second and then no sells it like they never got punched right in to the face.

Now if Rollins would have kicked out out of 6 F5s it would be much different. Then you can talk about unbelievablity.

A heel is allways gonna sell more and better than the faces who are potrayed the most time like SUPERHEROS in a business that is fantasy and entertainment.

That's 2 different things. In the Hogan/Rock match nobody (as far as i can remember , i haven't watched that match in quite some time) was promoting that The Rock was injured or anything like that which just made that semi truck crash segment pointless and just for shock value. The Rock didn't come out all taped up or anything for his match so he wasn't intended to have an injury for this match. The story of the Rollins/Lesnar match was that of Rollins having to beat Lesnar injured.
.......That's even worse.

Like seriously, if you are telling me are that you can't take Seth vs. Brock seriously because you don't think Seth sold the ribs enough, then I can say that I can't take seriously the fact that Rock vs. Hogan even happened because Rock should have been in a hospital bed.

But I'm not going to say that, because that would be going way overboard, like most of this thread has.

I don't really see what the point of having Brock take the title off Seth for a month was. Seth really isn't in any better position now than he was before that. If anything, he's starting to get noticeable heat from the crowd. Beating Brock again isn't going to just magically springboard him into being interesting or a draw. He needs to start turning heel now with the title, if he keeps going with this bland and awful character, he's dead in the water
The sole reason for Brock winning mitb was to get him another career accolade and was designed as a chance to reboot seth after he failed so miserably as the champ. So Brock got another title run, seth has two universal runs now and supposedly it's a new day for seth now. I wonder what his fans will blame this time when he inevitably fails again? Bad booking? Bad opponents? heaven forbid they blame the guy doing the bad acting, bad selling, and cutting the worst promos of the year. :Cocky

I never thought this obsession over selling would piss off folks this much :done

Thankfully, Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar sent the Toronto crowd home happy after that good main-event :drose

I'm not reading beyond this because literally no one thought the leg was still injured. It's one thing to horribly grasp at straws at a poor attempt to defend Rollins. It's another to straight up make shit up like you're doing here.

Complaining about selling isn't going overboard. I don't know why people continue to make this argument. Selling is one of the most critical aspects of performing in the ring. You can't sit here and say that people are taking the fact that he spent the match no selling too seriously. It's like saying that a baseball pitcher giving up home runs all the time isn't a big deal.

Is it time to admit that Rollins sucks in the ring? Well it's either that or it's Vader time and it sure as hell ain't Vader time.

People blaming Rollins for not selling the injury but if we are being honest, this was down to the road agents and Vince himself.

For me, seeing Rollins overcome the injury and win would’ve been a sweet ass moment. He would’ve developed that “never give up attitude” without needing to speak.

If Rollins comes out taped up tonight then I have lost hopes completely. Even Ricochet did a better job at selling that leg injury.

Literally, everybody did. Well.. not everybody... everybody but me :p. Nobody was running around complaining how 'fake' his selling of the knee was.

And you can keep trying to equate Rollins not selling to the inability to be able to sell just kind of invalidates you.

Even the core concept of this thread.. that Rollins 'sucks in the ring' is hilarious. Now, granted he narrowed his moveset and workrate after the injury(and i'm quite sure at the promotion's behest), but simply saying that means someone is completely ignorant of Rollins's run since he broke The Shield. The motherfucker would take a dive over the top rope to the outside and land on his feet. Would jump off the top rope into an F5. Shit... the curbstomp reversal into an RKO @ WM is a thing of legend. This is a guy that could do a Phoenix splash if needed and most guys his size wouldn't even consider it.

He can roll with anyone, anytime... even the technical guys like Styles or Bryan. I'm quite sure if you put him in there with Ricochet, he'd hold his own with Flippy McFlipper.

And make no bones about this.. if he were ever to come free, AEW would be on him like white on rice. The guy is a top-tier talent, and if you don't believe that you can take your opinion, which is worth about as much as a ten cent taco, and shove it. I mean, they went after Ambrose and that guy is mid-tier at best anywhere else.

Reading through this thread has made me realise why I never really connect to a Rollins match. The dude is really great at doing moves for sure and can make other guys look good by carrying them through sequences that you probably wouldn't associate with someone of Rollins size. However, that is all Rollins is doing, moves. There is no actual psychology with the moves, no selling or acting, he is just hitting the move in a vacuum of function, like a robot cycling through the basic instruction. So while as impressive as some of his spots are, because he is never telling a compelling story with the moves, all you get is base spectacle and nothing else.

Real question why do Seth fan always defend him with crowd reaction argument. Why does it matter when debating their abilities? I have never seen that argument outside of wrestling. Fans don't argue which actor gets louder reaction in theaters (e.g. Captain America gets bigger reaction than Thor in theaters so Evans is better than Hemsworth). Nor do fans of artists argue who gets louder screams at concerts. (Bieber gets "louder" reaction than Paul McCartney so Bieber is superior?)

If not selling meant someone was a bad wrestler why are Strong Style wrestlers or any indie wrestler who gets back up after a pile driver, 27 Super kicks or a Canadian Destroyer so popular?

Not just Rollins, but this entire way of wrestling.

Everybody is after Meltzer ratings.

Focused on the next spot, going out there looking like a dance rehearsal.

No selling, just to get to the next super dragon driver 450 corkscrew douchebag flip. Then kick out.

Watering down of moves just so the current match can have all the cool stuff thrown in. Repeat.

This shit needs to stop.

We need to go back to where a move took time and you the audience thought it hurt. DDTs matter. Body slams matter.

Strong Style wrestlers don't no sell. They power through the pain but they should be doing in such a way that its shows that they are still in extreme pain or that a body part of theirs are in extreme pain. No selling is when they just don't bother to show that they are in pain at all.

Popularity doesn't equal quality.

So they should realize that Meltzer's last five stars (which I remember) was Cody vs. Dustin, the complete opposite of what recent matches have been.
