No. Cold showers can actually increase body temperature. I always go with acetaminophen and lots of water.
It's funny because when I came out it jumped up to 99.9. My assumption was just by thinking about it for a bit is that it's probably not good cuz your body increased temp to fight off infection, the thing is I just can't allow myself to get hot, or else that's when I start throwing up. I dont know if thats for everybody or just me but i know it happens even when im not sick as well. Quite a tricky situation.No. Cold showers can actually increase body temperature. Excuse me, but this is a wrestling forum, not a medical advice board. Visit mayoclinic for questions like these.I, much like everyone else thinks it's stupid to ask medical advice on a wrestling forum but in this particular situation I have a 99.7 fever and don't feel good I want to know what precautions I can take to lower my fever before it gets worse. Is that even a good idea to do? These may sound like stupid questions but I rarely get sick if ever, last time was 2 years ago. It's kind of nauseating doing research on the internet right now in agony I've already vomited 3 times earlier today ,one projectile style. I don't really have anyone to ask advice as it's 2a.m. in the morning here
I've been trying to drink smartwater and hold it down, I'll get some Gatorade in the morning somehow. I got rice cakes I've been eating, but don't have much of an appetite, it's been hard to keep anything down I'm just really thirsty but can't sip fast or else I'll vomit, as per usual fever standards,
I'm trying to look away from the screen while I write this, I took a ice cold shower and I felt a bit better, seems like everytime when the room get hot that when I get nauseous and vomit. So I got both of the windows open its 38 degrees outside but it feels good in the room, I'm cold right now but luckily I'm the type that can tolerate cold more that others so I don't mind it much.
Thanks anybody who answers for the help. The funny part was the onset was so quick, I felt fine earlier today then BAM! :lol
That's because all a cold shower does is lower your peripheral temperature, you vasoconstrict and shunt more blood towards your core thereby increasing your core body temp which is what you're measuring. Stay hydrated, it's pretty simple. Also given that a fever is a symptom, you should keep monitoring it and head to the hospital if it gets bad enough. It's funny because when I came out it jumped up to 99.9. I'm trying to look for some acetaminophen as we speak while not making any sudden movements. Also forgot to mentioned I smoked some cannabis to combat the nausea, and boy does that work wonders. I've been able to drink the most fluids and keep them down when I'm high. My first instincts were to sleep it off but that didn't work much at all, woke up and said "fuck this" and lit one up :lol
smart water is Coke's water brand.i dont know what smart water is, but you should probably just keep drinking lots of water and getting as much rest as possible.
For the nausea part, if you have a stomach bug I recommend blueberry juice. It really helps with the nausea, my wife introduced me to that and it really works. Worse case scenario, I take the juice that is in an actual can of blueberries (like a can for muffin mix) and drink it.
As for the fever part, what I find more effective is drinking a glass of cold water while taking a hot bath. In the past, that for me is been better at breaking the fever.

exposing yourself to the cold air outside and keeping yourself cold during a fever isn't going to help much either. even if you feel really warm that isn't exactly a recommend solution.

A cold shower isn't going to help you manage a fever.

Everyone, just stop it. Threads like these aren't intended for WrestlingForum, go to Mayoclinic if you want to do that crap. Yes, I understand that it's in the "Anything" section, but he should only post stuff related to wrestling, And since when is treating a sickness a part of wrestling?do you even realize what section you're in? :bosh
we're literally in the "non-wrestling" part of the forum breh.Yes, I understand that it's in the "Anything" section, but he should only post stuff related to wrestling, And since when is treating a sickness a part of wrestling?
LOL why did you quote yourself in that long list of quotes? :lolEveryone, just stop it. Threads like these aren't intended for WrestlingForum, go to Mayoclinic if you want to do that crap. Not wanting to sound like an asshole, but off topic threads like this makes me sick.
That's becuase he had a stomach virus, and the virus he contracted came from dumb smarks who are spreading nonsense, just like they are spreading their disease. I suggest you take cover before you get the disease as well.as an aside, i don't recall ever throwing up a lot as apart of the symptoms i got while having a fever. do you have the flu or is it something else OP? if it is something more serious than, like rus said, you should probably see a doctor/go to hospital if the symptoms don't start clearing up within a week.
In case you missed it, dude...this is the "Anything" section. We talk about everything else besides wrestling in this section. Politics, porn, religion, porn, relationship advice, porn, food, porn...did I mention porn? If the man is looking for medical help, who are we to turn him away? If what we tell him is wrong (and my fixes for what ails him I've used myself for years), his fault for listening to us.Everyone, just stop it. Dean Ambrose made the OP sick, because he saw how Ambrose was horrible in the ring.LOL why did you quote yourself in that long list of quotes? :lol
And if you don't like non wrestling topics, stay out of the Anything section? You sound silly complaining about non wrestling stuff in a section meant for non wrestling stuff...
And OP, I hope you're not replying to the thread anymore cos you went to lie down, you shouldn't be looking at a computer screen! If you still feel sick, definitely go to the doctor!!
If this forum is a wrestling forum, it doesn't make any sense to even have an Anything section. In case you missed it, dude...this is the "Anything" section. Take a deep breath and relax. It'll be OK. :smile2:
LOL good job, trying to insult my fave, well done! (Y) Luckily I'm not one of these people who takes any negative post about my favourite wrestler as an insultDean Ambrose made the OP sick, because he saw how Ambrose was horrible in the ring.
