In terms of what?

Wrestling? No.

In terms of portraying himself as larger than life and the biggest star he can possibly be? Yes.

McGregor isn't the biggest guy, he isn't even the best fighter yet his charisma and larger than life aura has won him over millions of fans, has gained him a million haters and got a billion eyes on him tonight, competing in a sport that isn't even his

What he has is balls.

The WWE honestly needs someone in their ranks who is so confident and cocky in their ability that they're willing to go off script, get eyes on them and make the company a lot of money. The last person they had who seemed to have that type of attitude was CM Punk in all honesty and we all know that he isn't the biggest guy nor even a fighter.

No, he's better than any WWE superstar ever, not just 2017.

Quite easily, yes. If McGregor were around 250+ pounds and had chosen to be a WWE superstar instead and had the same persona, he'd be the perfect FOTC.

He only knows how to do cage matches, we've not seen the guy do much other matches. Heck he's not even done tag or triple threat matches.

Nor has he even tried to jump off the top of the cage unlike guys like Chris Jericho.

Of course he is. He's a combination of Ric Flair, Steve Austin and Brad Pitts one punch Mickey all rolled into one. He's successfully crossed over into the mainstream.

Well, seems like everyone is quick to say yes, but I dare say NO.
He wouldn´t have that many fans and/or haters if he were just a WWE wrestler, so the comparison isn´t fair to begin with.
If you give him a script, or tell him to go a special direction in his promos, he´ll probably fail, but because he is what´s supposed to be a "real" fighter, he´s given airtime and attention that a wrestler not named Dwayne Johnson can only dream of.

What a faulty comparison.

Conor McGregor isn't a pro wrestler. He doesn't have to adhere to choreography or a script. He doesn't have to worry about pissing off an entire locker room in the way that a WWE performer does. He doesn't have to worry about pissing off the higher ups in UFC the way that WWE performers have to.

Not saying that McGregor doesn't have his own shit to worry about that WWE performers don't, but it's apples and oranges. It's like asking if Michael Jordan is better than Anthony Hopkins.

Wrestlers tend to get demoted for going off script when they're not intended to be pushed. Look at Zack Ryder, I personally didn't think he was much good but the company buried him out of spite. There are plenty of other examples too, I believe.

Punk can talk all he wants about how the company hindered him, but the point is he was already a three time world champion before he supposedly went into business for himself.

He's searched for way more. Absolutely wallops Cena in Google trends, which was long before the fight with Floyd began to get promoted, too.

But who knows, really? If WWE would stop constraining its stars to such a corny script we might be able to find out.

Like others have said, he's not hampered by sh!tty scripts written by failed Hollywood writers that were changed over and over again by a senile old man who has no clue.
