There is something I've noticed that the current roster doesn't seem to have the rosters of years past had: intensity. It almost seems as if the work in the ring now is lazier than it used to be. Also, it seems that the there isn't a lot of diversity when it comes to moves. For instance, a German suplex used to be a pretty common thing to see. For the life of me I can't think of a recent match where I saw one of those.

Granted, these are four of the best workers that there has ever been, but why doesn't the current roster have this kind of intensity?

Even this match, which does not contain the level of talent in the first video, has much more intensity than anything I've been watching lately.

Watching Raw and PPVs from 1996...guys of today just don't compare with what Stone Cold Steve Austin was doing. Not even close.
