It seems that WWE is making some efforts at the moment to rebuild the Tag Division that has been in need of some attention for a long time.
I have never been a big fan of NXT but sometimes it becomes even more apparent the purpose and importance of programme. NXT seems to be the place in which the WWE is implementing and testing out new partnerships.
WWE has had many superstars for a long time under achieving as they cannot make a name for them selves just yet as a singles competitor, but are far too good to be wasted and not used.
Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd
Epico and Primo
Heath Slater and Johnny Curtis
Kofi Kingston and R Truth (Injured)
Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins
Darren Young and Titus O'Neil
Obviously some of this are already established somewhat (R Truth and Kofi) but WWE are slowly trying to bring in some newer tag team competition, with a main focus on some technical wrestling.
Its definitely a step in the right direction and brings much strength to another division other than WWE and World heavyweight championship.
The tag division is the grass roots the developmental area and a good place to groom future singles competitors - WWE tag division has made guys like Christian, Edge, Jeff Hardy and Bully Ray to name a few.
Also im very impressed with the prestige WWE are bringing back to the IC title giving a legit future prospect and great technical wrestler Cody Rhodes such a long title reign, making the belt legit again with some compelling and interesting story lines against The Big Show was a great move to make the belt legit and relevant again.
Reverting back to the white belt was also a great commercial move and also symbolised the new and rejuvenated era of the IC title.
And now keeping Cody Rhodes in the IC feud even after he lost it is really stringing together a great story line, putting the title on someone with a reputation such as Christian who has recently been the WHC was final clarification for me that WWE is really working from the bottom upwards to try and improve the whole of the WWE rather than just the top and will benefit the long term future of the company.
So whilst we may complain right now in what has been a poor May, its nothing unusual an should pick up again very soon with Summerslam and the 1000th episode coming soon, what we can look forward to is an impressive and brighter future than we had 3/4 years ago.
And with Ryback, Cessaro and Sandow edging their ways into the main roster and the inclusions of Chris Hero, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins coming soon the future of the WWE is looking more and more impressive.
