It seems that WWE is making some efforts at the moment to rebuild the Tag Division that has been in need of some attention for a long time.

I have never been a big fan of NXT but sometimes it becomes even more apparent the purpose and importance of programme. NXT seems to be the place in which the WWE is implementing and testing out new partnerships.

WWE has had many superstars for a long time under achieving as they cannot make a name for them selves just yet as a singles competitor, but are far too good to be wasted and not used.

Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd
Epico and Primo
Heath Slater and Johnny Curtis
Kofi Kingston and R Truth (Injured)
Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins
Darren Young and Titus O'Neil

Obviously some of this are already established somewhat (R Truth and Kofi) but WWE are slowly trying to bring in some newer tag team competition, with a main focus on some technical wrestling.

Its definitely a step in the right direction and brings much strength to another division other than WWE and World heavyweight championship.

The tag division is the grass roots the developmental area and a good place to groom future singles competitors - WWE tag division has made guys like Christian, Edge, Jeff Hardy and Bully Ray to name a few.

Also im very impressed with the prestige WWE are bringing back to the IC title giving a legit future prospect and great technical wrestler Cody Rhodes such a long title reign, making the belt legit again with some compelling and interesting story lines against The Big Show was a great move to make the belt legit and relevant again.

Reverting back to the white belt was also a great commercial move and also symbolised the new and rejuvenated era of the IC title.

And now keeping Cody Rhodes in the IC feud even after he lost it is really stringing together a great story line, putting the title on someone with a reputation such as Christian who has recently been the WHC was final clarification for me that WWE is really working from the bottom upwards to try and improve the whole of the WWE rather than just the top and will benefit the long term future of the company.

So whilst we may complain right now in what has been a poor May, its nothing unusual an should pick up again very soon with Summerslam and the 1000th episode coming soon, what we can look forward to is an impressive and brighter future than we had 3/4 years ago.

And with Ryback, Cessaro and Sandow edging their ways into the main roster and the inclusions of Chris Hero, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins coming soon the future of the WWE is looking more and more impressive.

This. They really should focusing develop these young/fresh talents that are now stuck in NXT/superstars and also being squashed in Raw/SD. I agree in your terms for the tag team as their pushing them further up the roster. It could be benefit for the WWE in the future

Re: Im quite impressed with WWE's attempts to rebuild a tag division and improve the

When WWE start using the Intercontinental title and Tag Team titles on PPV on a regular basis then i'll be impressed with them using those divisions but right now neither title is any more important than it was last year or the year before, the last time it really mattered was Mysterio/Jericho in 2009 if i'm honest. There is potential in Christian/Rhodes to be a great feud and produce great matches especially with there being no Randy Orton, Alberto Del Rio or Chris Jericho involved in the show right now meaning more focus on them.

In Tyson Kidd/Justin Gabriel, Darren Young/Titus O'Neill, The Uso Brothers, Epico/Primo and Tyler Reks/Curt Hawkins there is a lot of potential especially the first four teams i've said but if they are going to only wrestle on Superstars or NXT then they don't matter because barely anyone watches those shows. I would stop using Kofi Kingston as a Tag Team wrestler because he is without doubt the most popular mid card face and actually elevates a mid card title when he has it or has great matches with the mid card heel holding the title, i'd like the mid card and Tag Team divisions to look like this.

Raw mid card

Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, Zack Ryder, Ted DiBiase and Santino Marella as the faces and The Miz, Jack Swagger, David Otunga, Seth Rollins and R-Truth as the heels

SmackDown mid card

Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara, Christian, Kassius Ohno, Brodus Clay and Richie Steamboat as the faces and Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose, Antonio Cesaro, Damien Sandow, Hunico and Drew McIntyre

Tag Team scene

The Usos, Darren Young/Titus O'Neill, The Rotunda Brothers, Tyson Kidd/Justin Gabriel, Epico/Primo and Curt Hawkins/Tyler Reks

That would leave a main event scene of John Cena, Randy Orton, CM Punk, Sheamus, Chris Jericho, Alberto Del Rio, Kane, The Big Show, Bryan Danielson and Dolph Ziggler with Brock Lesnar, Triple H, The Undertaker and The Rock around part time to boost buyrates at the biggest PPV's when needed such as WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Survivor Series.

Big Show "injured" Truth and Kofi last night.
Dolph Ziggler pinned Christian clean.
Santino is feuding with Ricardo Rodriquez.
CM Punk is feuding with Daniel Bryan and Kane, which is a great angle. Unfortunately, it's not even allowed to main event RAW let alone PPVs.

So...yeah...WWE isn't really doing much with their champions, as a whole.

Dean Ambrose on Smackdown. No. Raw is clearly the main show and this guy is going to be the companies main heel for years to come. Seth Rollins Heel. No. The love child of Jeff Hardy and JoMo his in ring work is already getting him massive pops at house shows. Rotunda Brothers tag. No. why waste Bray Wyatt and Bo is a natural face.

So Dean Ambrose is simply going to come in and instantly be the top heel in WWE straight off the bat then, no. People need to be built up over time and whilst some people know him as Jon Moxley and what he can do a hell of a lot of people who don't use forums or read dirt sheets have no idea who he is therefore much like CM Punk and Bryan Danielson will need to be built up first which on Raw isn't possible.

Even Stevie Wonder could see that Dolph Ziggler is a super talented in ring worker and potentially a top heel but he is lost on Raw because unless your in one of the two top feuds on Raw your basically filler for the show and just thrown on a PPV with no build. If Dean Ambrose is to be anywhere near as successful as people believe then he needs to be built up which is what SmackDown is basically for as John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, JBL, Rey Mysterio, Ken Anderson, MVP, Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes can all be used as examples for over the years as people get over on SmackDown and get built up before they move to Raw and Dean Ambrose should be no different.

Do you really want to see Dean Ambrose get pushed for a month or two before WWE creative not knowing what to do after the initial push and then throwing him in with Vickie Guerrero or feuding with Santino and Hornswoggle because unless Dean Ambrose is feuding with one of John Cena or CM Punk or maybe Triple H in one of his two or three a year feuds then that is the outcome. Over on SmackDown it may be seen by people that don't understand the concept of SmackDown these days that he is on the secondary show but the reality is he will get much more exposure and become a much better all round talent with time on SmackDown and being a major part of a show that uses their mid card and main event scene quite close together rather than three or four minutes on Raw and going nowhere.

They're attempting which is more than I can say for the last few years. They're taking steps in the right direction, but they need to stay commited.

The tag team division is weak, and they don't have the right combinations right now. I can't stand The Usos because they just don't have "it". Kidd, and Gabriel is way to random for me. Epico, and Primo would be more entertaining off my television. Kofi, and Truth honestly suck. The others mentioned are just for the time being, and they are hardly worth mentioning. Right now the WWE would have a solid division if it looked more like this. The order has nothing to do with how I view any one team over the other.

Smackdown Tag Teams
1)Gabriel/Kingston (face)
2)Hawkins/Reks (heel)
3)McIntyre/Mason Ryan (heel)
4)Kidd/Dalton(FCW) (face)

Raw Tag Teams
1)Swagger/Riley (heel)
2)The Rotundas (face)
3)Clay/Truth (face)
4)Bateman/Curtis w/Maxine (heel)

With Raw going to three hours permantnently after the 1000th it makes sense. I am hoping instead of jsut another hour of filler the mid-card and tag titles get some more air-time. The signs are there that they are goign to start a decent tag team division, but then again we know if Vince loses interest in it thoguh it can go away in the blink of an eye.

Re: Im quite impressed with WWE's attempts to rebuild a tag division and improve the

My first thought was what tag division? Whenever a tag team is on TV, it comes across as filler. There isn't any sense of direction or emphasis at all. No storylines have developed or rivalry between the teams. There's no reason for the audience to care about Kofi/R-Truth having the titles or a credible challenger that we want to see take the titles. The lack of star power and audience response for these teams that are literally thrown together and jobbed out without reason hinders any progression that this division can obtain.

The IC title is in better shape, but that's because of the caliber of men involved in the fued. At the beginning, Rhodes/Christian started off awkwardly. Christian had an ambigious face turn and Rhodes was angry. They finally have crafted some sort of storyline with Christian explaining the turn and going back to the underdog veteran face which he excels at and Rhodes the arrogant younger heel which is well suited to his character. The focus now has to be transitioning Rhodes upward and maintaining Christian's face character by making him as credible as possible, building the midcard around him and his heel challengers.
