If WWE released a Sting DVD ...

... Would you buy it? More importantly, do you think they could make it without being negatively biased since he's in TNA. Since WWE owns the rights to WCW video footage, and judging by the fact that he's in at least two of their DVDs (2 matches on Greatest Stars of the 90s, and 4 on the Rise and Fall of WCW), I would have to think that they could do it if they wanted.

Not too sure tbh, in the Rise and Fall of WCW doc and the Monday Night Wars doc he is hardly mentioned.

Id love one though, but it would have to be with his personal involvment IMO.

Actually what led me to post is that I'm watching the matches on the Rise and Fall of WCW dvd, and he's in 4 of them. I forgot that he wasn't in the documentary portion though.
Yeah mate, it's nice to see his matches on that DVD, and the 90's stars one and of course the other official WCW DVD releases, i hope we get one when he finishes up with TNA, trouble is WWE own the WCW brand so they would have to produce it more than likely...
The problem is that he's never appeared on WWE programming - at least not to my knowledge.

I bet at least one person at WWE headquarters wants this to happen, but it's entirely up to the executives, and the one person who has all the cards is Vince.

A lot of people who's seen both WCW, and WWE shows over the years will know who Sting is, but the other side of the equation, such as half of the current WWE market does not know who he is.

I feel like they might be able to sell it to the kiddies just because he's a charismatic, talented wrestler who ALSO happened to wear face paint. Kids love face paint (see: Jeff Hardy)
I remember some video when WWE was talking about Sting, I can't find it but I remember Eric Bischoff trashing Sting abit, saying sting never gave an effort or something like that. He was still in the wwe at time, so i kinda get why he said that, but that really pissed me off.

Technically speaking, he did appear one time under the WWF banner, and that was the final Nitro episode as WCW was turned over to McMahon.
"If WWE released a Sting DVD ..." I would be significantly irritated. It's one thing to include him in WCW compilations. They kind of have to. They can't just pretend he wasn't a huge part of WCW and exclude him. Releasing a Sting DVD would be a whole different ball game. Let me put it this way: if WCW won the war, and the Undertaker bowed out until TNA came along and then joined and stuck with that company instead because he could never reach an agreement with Ted Turner and Bischoff... would you want WCW releasing an Undertaker DVD?

For the purposes of this metaphor, pretend Mean Mark never existed in WCW. That doesn't count anyway because it's a whole different character that only existed for a very short time.
I have zero faith that they'd do the DVD properly. They'd probably push the Human Torch Match between Sting and Vampiro from GAB 2000 as the greatest match in his career.

But that's what they're and they've been doing!

Sting has been away from wrestling television since WWE bought WCW, until TNA started rising in popularity, and became a fully syndicated wrestling [television] promotion.

Not a peep about Sting in that time, not even a mention. They could've just built a storyline to encourage him to come to WWE. Eric Bischoff wasn't even on WWE programming until they built up the "Yeah, I FIRED Stone Cold Steve Austin!" storyline. Which was around the time Invasion ended.

I don't see how..? He was all over the Clash of Champions thing I watched recently. Don't think I saw much of him on the Nitro DVD, but I can't remember, I watched that a while back.

I'm uh... having trouble understanding where you're going with this. The bottom line I guess is that you wish WWE could have brought him into the fold? You're not alone there. I wish the same.

Sting would fit right in nicely. In fact, I have a feeling that the reason why WWE hired Mordecai in the first place is because WWE couldn't land a Sting contract. There's an interview somewhere that it was ultimately Sting's decision not to be on WWE programming.

He wanted to be one of the most iconic names in WWE/WCW history. Vince disagreed because Undertaker is that person. But in Sting's defense, Sting could've been Undertaker's rival. The one that would end Undertaker's career earlier - not at a monumental Wrestlemania.

The fact is, Undertaker is looking for a worthy opponent worthy of taking his legacy. Don't get me wrong, Shawn, and Triple H are two of the most formidable opponents in WWE. And one of them almost "broke" Undertaker.

I dunno man, I just wish they'd at least mention Sting a bit more, and build up the storyline a bit more to coincide with his inevitable debut on WWE programming [bar the WCW acquisition]. The most obvious fucking storyline for Sting would be Sting vs Taker. That's obvious from the get-go.

And his debut is inevitable. TNA will at one point be acquired by WWE at some point in the future.

Ofcourse I would buy it, he is one of my all time favs.
