I still think they're dumb enough to go.through with it, anyone else? If he wins to end the show the moment would feel so flat.

How big of a mistake would it actually be?

On scale of 1-10 with 10 being mistake of all time and 1 being not a mistake at all.

I'd say a 2.

Batista winning the title would be a minor mistake just because wrestlemania wouldn't "send the fans home happy" and that's it.

I feel he's performed better over the past few weeks.. I still stand by him sucking when he returned but his B-Bombs are starting to look better and I'm enjoying watching him. Loved him at press conf.

This would be tremendously assinine. Batista is a man who to me seems visibly uninterested in wrestling despite his claims, often just going through the motions on the stick. Dave asks fans to deal with him winning the big title, yet he cannot pronounce the name of said title correctly even though he has been back for over a month. the man's good physique hasn't translated in the ring given he is sucking wind in literally five minutes and couldn't even have a fundamentally match vs Del Rio who while a bit dry in the showmanship department is a very solid ring workeer who even managed to get the first par match out of Khali in years. Hell, it seems that the ultimate allure Batista brings to WWE: viewership increase hasn't remained consistent, as I remember reading a little while ago that Batista's segments on occasion have actually LOST viewership. While Cena will remain the face of the company for now with or without the belt until one day Reigns takes the mantle, the company title holder is still an important position, and I don't think in a company looking to grow it's global entertainment empire that Batista is the guy you want holding the belt.

It appeared that WWE was screwed with Batista winning the Rumble and depending on if you think the Wyatt family joining fiasco was never planned to cease the attempted assasination of Bryan's momentum which only caused Bryan to get even hotter than he already was , but now WWE has a chance to rectify their situation, appease the lifeblood of their company (WWE is a reaction based business remember) and overall mend this situation, and all it takes is Bryan having a decent title rn and getting his payoff finally. I am unsure if the dirt sheet reports of Batista being contractually guaranteed to win the wwe title at mania is true, but if not and if wwe still feels the need to leach off whatever visibility Batista will bring in that Marvel movie, you can still give Batista the title in the summer so long as Bryan gets his time with the belt.

If this situation is not rectified, than WWE would be making a titanic miscalculation.

Biggest mistake they ever made. Launch a potential new top star when your company is primed for a boom period and focus on all the young fresh talent at mania, or give Bootista his last hurrah ?

I'd be done if cena, nao, and Bootista won. WWE needs to be about db, shield, and Wyatt's starting now

Daniel Bryan should win, there is little to no question about that.
Even if his fame does die out over the next year or two, it's still a huge 'Mania moment, and can actually help to usher in a 'new era' that they're always talking about.

Batista is second choice. I'm not gonna lie, at least he's somewhat fresh. and the situation could be re-deemed if he feuds with D-Bry anyway.

Triple H i'd just about be okay with just because it'd open the door to a ton of new feuds, he's made quite a few enemies since going corporate and though they can't do anything about 'COO HHH', they can damn sure attack 'World Champion HHH'.

Randy Orton is the lame duck in this scenario. I don't see any point in him winning, and I honestly don't think anybody outside of huge Randy Orton fans think that he should.

It wouldn't be. Batista is always gold as a heel as long as they allow him to show personality [So, sans his Evolution years].

I think I'd laugh, basically just to see the reaction of the DB marks on here....but as a mistake I think a 6-7 out of 10. I always found the show better when the face is challenging for the title than when the face is the champion.

Good Lord. It wouldn't be a "mistake".. What would happen if Batista wins the title? Nothing much, he'll continue to feud with Orton or Bryan for the next few months. Same would happen if Orton or Bryan win.. Batista theoretically should win this match. If Bryan wins, the chase is over before it even begins. The money is in the chase.

If Daniel Bryan wasn't as hot, or over or ready to take the title right now I'd say that it would be a fine idea. Because to be honest, Batista as a heel champion would be interesting and a great foil for Daniel Bryan in his quest for the title. However, I think this is the stage where they NEED to give Bryan his moment. The storyline has called for it, the fans have been waiting a lot time and I think to not do it at Wrestlemania would be such a huge waste of one of the best Wrestlemania moments in years.

If Batista then cheats him out of the title at a later date and Bryan chases him for it, then so be it. But give the crowd at Wrestlemania and give Daniel Bryan the moment.
