This would be tremendously assinine. Batista is a man who to me seems visibly uninterested in wrestling despite his claims, often just going through the motions on the stick. Dave asks fans to deal with him winning the big title, yet he cannot pronounce the name of said title correctly even though he has been back for over a month. the man's good physique hasn't translated in the ring given he is sucking wind in literally five minutes and couldn't even have a fundamentally match vs Del Rio who while a bit dry in the showmanship department is a very solid ring workeer who even managed to get the first par match out of Khali in years. Hell, it seems that the ultimate allure Batista brings to WWE: viewership increase hasn't remained consistent, as I remember reading a little while ago that Batista's segments on occasion have actually LOST viewership. While Cena will remain the face of the company for now with or without the belt until one day Reigns takes the mantle, the company title holder is still an important position, and I don't think in a company looking to grow it's global entertainment empire that Batista is the guy you want holding the belt.
It appeared that WWE was screwed with Batista winning the Rumble and depending on if you think the Wyatt family joining fiasco was never planned to cease the attempted assasination of Bryan's momentum which only caused Bryan to get even hotter than he already was , but now WWE has a chance to rectify their situation, appease the lifeblood of their company (WWE is a reaction based business remember) and overall mend this situation, and all it takes is Bryan having a decent title rn and getting his payoff finally. I am unsure if the dirt sheet reports of Batista being contractually guaranteed to win the wwe title at mania is true, but if not and if wwe still feels the need to leach off whatever visibility Batista will bring in that Marvel movie, you can still give Batista the title in the summer so long as Bryan gets his time with the belt.
If this situation is not rectified, than WWE would be making a titanic miscalculation.
