But even I believe he had a great promo. He made the Rock seem like a dick and his fans seem like stupid marks. I was nervous to hear the Rock's response after Cena's monologue, and being a Rock fan I had a right to be. He didn't address one thing that Cena said, his reply was "I'm going to kick your candy ass" ? Are you kidding me.. Come on guys let's not be blind Rock marks here and give Cena the little amount of credit he deserves. Plus, It was the only good thing he's done for years.

Did you guys actually listen to what he said? It didn't even make sense, he spent 10 minutes kissing The Rock's ass then he preceded to whine about The Rock judging him and his fanbase. Which is hypocritical because he started the whole damn issue by calling out The Rock's passion for wrestling. The WWE is protecting Cena, and it is rather obvious when you actually get passed all the hoopla, because Rock could easily slice and dice his points up and make him look really bad.

The Rock's response came off really weak. Cena just laid it all on the table. I love that Cena fully admitted that his fan base was kids, and he has no problem with that. So what, Rock? What is so wrong with kids looking up to Cena? And like him or not, Cena has worked damn hard for the company.

But OTOH, this is still vintage Rock. Sometimes he just wants to shut up their monkey ass and get to business with a beat down.

Because Vince wants to protect his main asset.
Which is odd seeing as though Cena FU'ed Rock from behind (if you get what I mean) instead of face to face.

I'll repeat what I said in a different post.

Cena's promo sucked. He employed cheap tactics tonight that are usually reserved for Internet arguments. He turned petty insults into slurs. He morphed genuine criticism of his lack of widespread appeal into xenophobic-style loyalty. He basically tried to vilify a man by claiming that guy overreacted... through a series of overreactions. If this wrestling thing doesn't work out Cena would make a hell of a politician.

Another annoying aspect of it was that Cena decided to forget everything he said before tonight because that's the only way he could get away with taking the moral high ground. This is the guy who can't cut a promo without making a gay joke and he's going to turn around and say that Rock isn't allowed to judge others? How does that make ANY sense?

Cena doesn't realize that Rock IS in a position to judge him. He's done far more than Cena in the wrestling business and in a shorter span of time. He's the far bigger household name.

have you re-watched it since last night?

if not, watch it again

see if you still think "it was great"

......it was far from great, he had one memorable line when he asked the rock if he had a problem about him busting his ass for the company or something like that

but yeah.. if you haven't seen it since last night, re-watch it again

..........and honestly say whether or not it's good

You're one of the few reasonable Rock marks I've seen on the forum. They tend to be unable to admit if someone's outdone Rocky. Thank YOU!

I have rewatched it 3 times, and it still seems very, very good.

QFT, I thought Rock was a little weak last night but as it been said they had to make cena look stron because he has been getting his ass handed to him verbally from the get go. The promo cena had last night was mediocre when you go back and look at it because it came off like a boy pleading for acceptance then saying fuck it. Also after he was so "emotional" during his promo why was he laughing ringside while miz was "owning:no:" The Rock?

It's scripted, just in case you forgot. Also, bringing in the gay jokes I'd say is a weak argument for the most part. You're sounding like one of those overly sensitive types now. I would say that, kayfabe, Cena's speech seemed genuine and I would expect a typical IWC dreamboy to criticise something genuine.

I loved the cena promo. The rock lost. bad. as much as rock marks want to say he didn't, he really did. Of course, rock could have did EXACTLY what cena did too and hit on the gay card but thats in a completely different ballpark than the kiddies thing. The FU from behind had to happen that way. If they actually started fighting, they're playing their wrestlemania card too loosely. Besides, you can't let any side actually win. By having cena FU him from behind, we can all sit tight knowing the rock only got laid out because it was from behind. If cena was a heel, this would have been an almost perfect feud. Smarks LOVED the heel cena. It's kind of funny too, in the future whenever Cena's replacement comes along, these same kids that loved cena, like how we all loved the rock, will be on cena's side (most likely some of us too) once rock-cena becomes cena-*new generation. That's how it was for Hogan-Rock. It's a shame we never got see the bret hart get into any of the folds with the company's biggest stars.

I enjoyed every part of that promo last night. The Rock was fantastic, Cena was on his game, and the Miz held his own pretty well too. No clue why A-Ri was there other than to cheap shot the Rock but whatever.

This was one of the best promos I've seen in some time and if you don't believe me just pay attention to the crowd. They were fired up and it was about 50/50 in that crowd behind the Rock or Cena and they were loud about it.

I don't give a crap who you mark out for, I just know that the Rock and Cena in the same ring was awesome and I know a lot of people have been wanting it to happen for one reason or another. The mere fact that people are so opinionated and saying how great the Rock/Cena was and how much Rock/Cena sucked is proof that WWE is playing this right so far. When the fans are this invested in a feud one way or the other that's a good thing.

Pretty much everything he said made sense if you were actually listening to the promo. He was talking about how great the rock is and yet he straight up left the fans who loved him and then told him because of that he had no room to judge Cena. It makes perfect sense. But I will agree that they were simply trying to make Cena look good on the mic to get him over.

lol well.. cena didn't address one thing that he said about the rocks "passion" he just went on the defensive and screamed alot. He made the rock feel like a dick for what? expressing a opinion? cena has publicly bashed the rock and questioned his loyalty and passion to the business, and he is the victim when someone finally calls him out on his bullshit. cena playing the victim did not do it for me. He should have came at the rock like he did in his freestyles.. not kiss his ass when they come face to face.

The Rock got owned. You Rock marks can try and sugar coat it all you want, but he became Cena's bitch for one night. That verbal truth and the AA will live on forever.

Cena was clearly the star of the segment. Rock didn't really say a whole lot.
