This is gonna sound really stupid but how can i edit my signature? Every time I try to all I get is a page that pops up saying that I'm not allowed to.

All you need to do is click on the User CP at the top of the page then Edit Profile. If that doesn't work, then you might need Admin help.

I suspect you're clicking the "Edit Signature" link in your posts, like this one. That's a control for mods/admins. As Rajah said, do it from your User CP and all should be fine.
