Hypothetically, what would be the ideal return for him?

I always preferred Punk as a face for some reason, even though I know he's better off as a heel. I guess it's just me getting older and realizing that heels don't have much of a shelf-life nowadays. The face always wins in the end and that's why I think Punk is better off as a face. However having said all that... for his return, I'd have to do something big and for me...

I would have him return as a heel and take out Daniel Bryan and side with the Authority. Imagine Corporate Punk... :mark: That would be awesome IMO. Punk in a suit, going against everything he stands for and selling his soul tot he devil, just to get to the top of the WWE. That's what Punk always wanted, to be the man. I think this would get major heat but it could also be a massive fail.

Thats just my thoughts guys. And before you Punk haters say "I wouldn't bring him back", in this scenario, Punk HAS to come back and have a big return. So lets keep this one realistic :p

Let me know your thoughts!

Have The Authority in the lead up weeks to Punk returning announce major acquisition and they reveal it's Punk. Similar to how the nWo announced Bret Hart joining nWo only when he first arrive in WCW he didn't actually join them and stayed face. Do that or something very similar with Punk. He comes dressed all corporate in suit but then he turns on them. This could be where Vince comes in to start the power struggle and it was him who signed and brought back "The Best In The World" to rid WWE of The Authority.

Comes out after Bryan successfully defends his title at Payback and then challenges him to a match at Summerslam. It's in Chicago again, and the pop Punk would get would be gigantic.

As a jealous, entitled chode who's enraged at Bryan for "taking whats his" in regards to being the super popular underdog who fought his way to the top. Dickhead heel Punk >>>> every other Punk.

You pretty much severely limited what anyone can even reply with by saying that.

So basically if we don't come up with some massive return, you're a hater?

I don't think Punk has to be big if he comes back. Imo he shouldn't be. He's not in great shape, was getting stale, and was given MANY opportunities at the top already. He almost never wasn't at the top.

I don't think he should be if he does return simply because he left. In fact specifically because he left the way he did is a reason he shouldn't be up there again.

Nothing to do with hate either, I would say this about any wrestler who left under those circumstances.

Not a fan of the corporate Punk idea, tbh, it just somewhat kills of a huge part of his intricate and developing character/gimmick throughout his time in the WWE. Punk is known as the biggest anti-establishment guy on the roster, and, while it may produce quite a bit of heat, I think it would just be nonsensical and may hurt Punk in the long run.

I'd just have him return as a face, and issue a challenge to someone like Bryan.

Easy. Have Punk come out at Summerslam during Lesnar/Bryan for the title, as the Authority and Shield are out brawling on the outside, get in the ring looking to attack Lesnar for their past history...only to attack Bryan instead and cost Bryan the title and Lesnar is the champion. Punk states that he tried to bring change and be the voice of the voiceless but the people threw him out like trash and left him for dead and let Bryan be the true people's champion. Have them feud that can legit last to Survivor Series if you want.

You could always turn him back to the fair.

Punk never keeps the same look and gimmick for long. I could see him being for this storyline if it got him in a Wrestlemania main event which is what he's always dreamed of.

It's hard to believe that he's never main evented a Wrestlemania. He really did deserve it.

That's not really what I was implying. I just didn't want to see responses like "Have him return and job to Heath Slater in 20 seconds" for example. I wanted realistic responses if you get me

But fair enough if you think that. However Punk is a big draw and the fans are cheering out for his name. If he came back, the fans would demand him to be in the main event. If theres money to be made and good TV to be watched, why punish the fans? Yeah Punk left but only cause he disagreed with the direction he was going in. You can't blame him for that

I'd first have Brock beat Bryan for the title at Summerslam, and the win all the way to mania. Beating Bryan, Cesaro, Ziggler, and anyone else they throw in front of him. Punk ends up being a surprise entrant in the rumble and beats Brock with the help of Paul Heyman in the main event next year.

Hate to break it to you, but Punk is most likely done for good. I don't ever see CM Punk appearing in WWE again, not even the Hall of Fame. I see him turning it down.

I don't think he's every coming back so I'm not even thinking about it at this point. He's done and moved on and so should the fans. I also think that the WWE has gone cold on him as well and outside of using his name and face to get some chump change (basically happily accept the money people are still giving them because of him) they probably don't care much either. Not when they've already replaced him with Bryan and with an entire new roster of potential main-eventers coming up.

Punk left at a time when his stock was falling and therefore WWE won't remember him for a long, long time.

I'd have him come back to put over stars like the Wyatt's, cesaro, and maybe a title feud with Bryan for one of the lesser ppvs. The roster has a lot of good talent now, and I don't think punk is needed in the main event scene for long. I think a return feuding with the Wyatt's would be a big deal so long as he doesn't beat them in handicap matches like he did the shield.

I don't think him returning is as unlikely as some are describing it to be. It's not very likely, but it is somewhat likely that he may return in 2 years or so. Though, it is probably more likely that he will never return, as much as it pains me to say it.

If Vince passes on before they get done negotiating a return or something, I find it even less likely that he'll return. I know that HHH had spearheaded one return (The Warrior - but those were exceptional circumstances if Warrior's death was impending), but I don't think he'll personally go out of his way to bring Punk back and would much rather try to create a new Punk through NXT.

I disagree, they'd bring him back because it would be BIG news, WWE will do anything for attention during mania season. Punk would be put into the main event at mania just like Batista and Rock when they returned.
