Pretty much this. There's always someone in the John Cena role and the next guy will hopefully be more talented.Just fine, they'll plug somebody into that superman roll and off they go. Business as usual. It's happened many times before.
The thing is though that Cena is no Hogan. That is not to say that Hogan's popularity was not dropping somewhat in his latter WWE years. However, Hogan leaving the WWE reminds me of when MJ left the Bulls after the 6th title in that it just totally deflated the league because the greatest ever was now gone and the league would never be the same. Cena just does not carry that type of nostalgic producing greatness and relevancy like Hogan did. They'll suffer for a few years, like they did when Hogan left.
From a fans perspective it will be better, but for WWE, it will be a lot worse. John Cena is their golden goose. Unless they make another star who can draw like Cena, it won't be better for them.. Daniel Bryan is not quite there yet to take Cena's place.Better.
