This is relatively so incredibly low for top star standards. This is the guy who was pushed as one of the main event acts for the better part of last decade. And he's been active on Twitter for over three years now. As you can see, he's behind mid carders like Kofi/Truth etc..Even the Divas seem to have more followers. Its almost he didn't exist in the main event scene and his stardom... noting more than Kayfabe hype by WWE.

I don't know. When he was active, they didn't push Twitter. Then he left, and they started using it massively.

So essentially, everyone else on the list has had weekly exposure of their Twitter @address, and his hasn't. Plus it's hard to compare him to anyone because he's the only one of his generation in the position of retiree.

He created his account well after being retired and away from the spotlight. Even Triple H only has 1,61 million followers, which is attributed to the fact he started using twitter rather late compared to most.

Surprised at R-Truth and Kofi having 1 million followers, though. Would say Ziggler too but at least he has been pushed to an extent and involved in some of the social media stuff over the years. The other two, though, have been completely irrelevant for the past 3 years.

Because as good as Edge was, he was never that big a superstar to begin with. He tends to get overrated on here when it comes to how popular he was.

Plus he hasn't been with the company since 2011.

Because he's a bad actor of a terrible series and he's not been seriously involved with WWE for years.
I'm not talking about his show, Haven or whatever its called. He was one of the major stars of the post attitude era in WWE, I'm just surprised to see how low his follower figure is, compared to other mid card acts. Its like he never truly connected with the fans as a star.

People perceive Twitter to be more important than it is, half of the superstars wouldn't have been looked up and followed it would simply come up in their suggestions and people just click follow because they're WWE related, that'll be why R-Tuth and kofi have so many

Lol at people saying because he joined late or some bs. John Morrison has more followers than him. When was the last time he was ever that popular? And he's been away as long as Edge has.

Read the post above.

And if I might add, 98% of the wrestling twitter audience are skinny fat teens using instagram and tumblr and possibly born after 1997, so they probably don't even know who the hell Edge is.

1- Created the account after his retirement.
2- Appears once or twice a year.
3- The newer generations might not even know he has twitter.
4- His tweets are mostly about a Cable show that, despite having decent ratings, isn't mainstream enough to gain him a copious amount of followers. Besides, he's a secondary character. And off topic, his work with the show is OK, I watch because I'm a huge Stephen King mark haha.

Triple H started his account only February of last year though, its just been a year. Edge has been active since late 2011(September apparently), he should be close to a million ATLEAST imo. Ryback started using Twitter AFTER Edge and he has close to million followers.

Just came to my mind, Zack Ryder was like the 3rd or 4th wrestler after Cena, Orton and I think Punk to reach 1 million followers. Quickly checking Twitter tells me he has nearly double the amount of followers

So we know who the real stars are :eek:bama

Triple H is a major player in the landscape of today's WWE. Edge isn't a factor.

What makes people come to vast, sweeping overgeneralisations like this, seriously?

True but the same goes for EDGE, unless you're suggesting Twitter algorithm purposely avoids Edge in the suggestions lol.

September 2012 actually. (just google "Edge joins twitter" and there's a WWE.com article on it)

Ryback has been on TV nearly weekly for over two years and was a very popular face through 2012. Being on WWE TV benefits them as some people follow whoever is on TV, which Edge has barely been since retiring a year and a half before joining twitter.
