Tessa did it!!

They really shouldn't have cut away from the big moment so quick at the end.

I liked how much Tessa kept selling her injured knee, fighting through the pain...Sami attacking the knee more. It was a good match between the two. Lots of middle fingers thrown. lol When Tessa was put through the table I was like "they better not end this on a count out"......

Glad that Impact stuck with Tessa regardless of the drama.

The few times that they did the ECW stuff early on I was okay with it, but having watched this promotion the last 18 years, they have ran the ECW hardcore concept into the ground. I think that Dreamer is a genuine person, but he drives me nuts. They have a pretty good roster and probably one of the better ones for a promotion just a few years ago was in shambles, they just need to stay away from this kind of nostalgia at this point.

Does Sami get the rematch right away or does Tessa get a new challenger? Should be interesting to see how far they take her reign.
Yeah they've ran it into the ground. But j guess the benefit is they've done that random nostalgia grab that they sort of are connected to the ECW legends by default lol. They should run it back on Impact just to tie it up before going into her next story.
Taker is definitely way past it.

There's old and then there's OLD.

Rhino and Swinger are in their mid 40s, which is okay to me. They can both still do all the moves they could in their primes and they're not dangerous or obviously horrible out there.

RVD and Dreamer are pushing 50. Dreamer is a much "older" 50, though. He's looked done for a few years now.

But Shamrock and Taker are 55. That's a bridge too far for me. Taker can barely walk and it's really sad.
It's just more a tired of them. But yeah there are levels to old lol

It looked like they still had some time left yet cut away really quickly. I guess the whole drama surrounding Tessa since yesterday may have something to do with it. Still weird tho because the crowd was fully behind her as far as I could tell.

I don't know what Impact's status with them is, but one of the reasons ROH used to run Sam's Town so much was that Sam's Town actually paid THEM to run shows there to get people into their casino.

Anywhere else ROH had to rent a venue and try to sell enough tickets to make up for it. At Sam's Town, they got paid up front to run the show and then pocketed the ticket money.

If Impact is getting a similar deal, or even just a reduced rental fee, they should absolutely keep running there.

I mean if you don't find multiple people confirming that she called a fellow wrestler a **/* then spat on them, at least a cause for concern that's ridiculous. The not welcoming to others is whatever though. But it will be interesting to see they big it up like they should given what is now attached to her.
There is one thing that needs to be mentioned these accusations against Tessa are horrible(more so if they are true(the racial slur part the other is just life in general especially locker rooms) but even if they are true she isn't the only person with a questionable past in that area. They currently employ Jessicka Havok who had her own troubles concerning racial slurs and homophobic remarks a few years ago.

That said

IMPACT is in a position where they either needed to support her(whatever that entails) or cut bait. This result seems to indicate that they are at least sticking by her to some degree.

She's without a doubt(in my mind at least) the most complete, and compelling woman in wrestling. She may even be one of the most compelling performers in wrestling regardless of gender(Sami is right there as well) at 24 years old.

Better safe than sorry. She cut a promo after the ppv went off air and there was a loud "you deserve it..."followed by a pretty audible "no you don't."

Vegas is a valuable market and there aren't a lot of great venues for mid-major wrestling promotions. There are plenty of venues smaller than Sam's Town but the next biggest one suitable for wrestling in the area is the Orleans, which as ROH found out, it can be hard to fill up even if you book Kenny Omega.

But at a Vegas show anywhere from 20-50% of the crowd is likely from out of town. So hopefully a bunch of those fans go home to wherever they came from and the promotion begins to get a foothold in those places.

Not for nothing but there were bound to be people saying she DIDN"T deserve it even without the drama.

I think we should start a list of World Champions who have allegedly said the N-Word(let alone ones who were self-righteous assholes and/or bullies) in their lifetime and remember that right at the top of the list are Hogan and Flair.

As I and others have stated hopefully she gets her shit together from a personal standpoint because once she steps through a curtain she is money.

Respect to Impact on not being bitches and changing their plans due to snowflakes on twitter. This reminds me why I'm here and why I don't watch AEW.

The match was awesome. Probably the best match I've ever seen. Even more emotional than Rock vs Cena if it is possible.

The ppv sucked tho. They dealt poorly with injuries. ODB cant wrestle, Fulton lost to 55 yo. No debuts or returns to back up all the fuck ups.

So yeah. Watched some of this.

Uh skipped the opener. Wtf is up with Shamrock beating people at his age? Jesus.

Skipped the X stuff. Two nerds flipping.

Womens match was okay. Taya has grown on me a lot. Im a fan.

The whole RVD Cage Daga stuff is whatever. I mean, i think RVD is doing a good job of being a dickhead heel, but who really wants to boo RVD? Like , really?.

Edwards and Elgin was good. Elgin is just a phenomenal pro wrestler. Love to watch him work. Edwards could stand to lay off the clam chowder a little. And who the FUCK was that lady going insane for Eddie in the crowd. Jesus lmao.

Im a big Moose guy. Love him. This match was fine. Rhino looked good. At least he went over.

Skipped the tag title. Some guy wearing Rick Steiners ear thing vs. Swann and some guy. Naw.

The main event was really good. Crowd was hugely invested so the build obviously worked and had people hooked. They went more psychology and storytelling than workrate or brutality, and thats fine. They made the right call. These things usually pass. In the 24 hour news cycle of the world we live in things get dumped pretty quick.

Overall, some good things, but a show with a lot of worts. They paid off what they needed to at the end though. It'll be interesting to see where Tessas reign goes. It's believable that she can work with a guy the size of Sami and hang, but if you put her in there with a Moose or something, I can only stretch my disbelief so far.

Enjoyed the show as a whole and was suprised to see Taya retain. But with Tessa winning and no "Option C" mentioned so far, i wonder if they'll do Tessa vs Taya for both World & Knockout (or an Option C method and vacating Knockouts title.) Taya did beat Tessa for the knockout title and her reign is now 1yr+ so defiantly has reason to face Tessa. Then Tessa can win and knockout title can be retired (if Impact want all women to compete for other titles) or vacated for a new Knockout Champion at Slammiversary.

I don’t see Impact going all out with multiple women competing for the World Title. I predict Tessa holds it for a couple months, then it goes back to a guy.
