Of course he's a great wrestler, but his gimmick is boring as hell. His character is basically that he has a giant stick up his ass. He wants you to know he takes wrestling super seriously.

McIntyre is significantly better in the ring. More athletic, more versatile / dynamic, faster and crisper.

Hell even his chops hit harder. Just look at the Wrestlemania match where his chops sounded like a gunshot. That's what Gunther is known for, and McIntyre is better at it.

McIntyre also has a far better look, and he's a much better promo. The only thing that Gunther has on him right now is booking.

This one was most baffling because his theme was basically free to use.

But I think they just like owning everything about each wrestler which is why you usually get name changes, new themes, etc.

There obsession with rebranding everything, especially when Vince was still fully in charge. It's funny how the wwe2k 23 my rise storyline of the company always puts their spin on things and believes they know what's best.

Nothing about Gunther is entertaining, people keep talking about his "chops" as if that's some revolutionary thing Ric flair didn't do 100 years ago.

His wrestling isn't all that,I prefer Sheamus or Drew if I want a foreign bruiser,Gunther just doesn't intimidate me like he's supposed to be doing.


I find myself thinking about that old man from "Up",the animated Disney movie. He is uncanny in the facial department.

The guy doesn't look like a main eventer,he looks like he's an older wrestler winding down from a very long career. Why is Triple h investing in this guy who maybe has 5 years left in the tank. The dude has had a year long IC title reign to the approval of iwc niche.


He isn't marketable,and I think Sable did the sable bomb better than him. That's literally the version of the powerbomb he's using. Triple h needs to retire with Stephanie and Vince when he leaves again.


Gunther is great for NXT, where he can be basic in front of 100 fans.

The biggest problem with him is that you know nobody is going to take the title off him for another 90 days. It's the problem when you start talking about a record months in advance. He's going to beat it once they start talking about it.

If you take away the whole thing about the record setting title run... he's the perfect IC champion. He has good matches and he plays a really good dominant champion. It's exciting when the good guy comes close to beating him. And eventually, someone will beat him and it will be a great moment.

But because it's obvious he's breaking the record there's not much suspense in his matches.

But that's precisely why he shouldn't break the record. Have him lose the title in the next 90 days and shock everyone and get them buzzing. At this point, Gunther's reign is just a carbon copy of Roman's 1,000 day record. And there's no suspense at all because you know he's not losing. And that just makes getting the record less impressive.

And I like Honky having the record, because it's kind of funny. And his reign was much more suspenseful, because in every single one of his title defenses, you thought there's a chance he could be losing the title.

Gunther will likely beat Seth at Survivor Series for the world title. Which gives WWE the option to have Cody face him at WrestleMania, as is rumored to be one of two options.

I am thinking Bron vs Seth at Summerslam and Cody vs Brock at Summerslam. Bron is the future not Gunther.
