So I'm sick at home today and decided to re-watch "The Rise and Fall of WCW" and while i was at the part of Dusty Rhodes taking over as the main booker, I noticed that he said he gave wrestlers more power. Michael Hayes said "The competitors were getting guaranteed contracts, and that was huge for this day in time, as the competitors now knew how much money they would be making." This got me thinking about that Nash/Punk promo, where Nash took credit for wrestlers getting guaranteed contracts. Not sure what to make of it, if anything, but it sure seems like an interesting topic to discuss

Damn you Dusty... Nash and plenty of others had guaranteed contracts and acted like complete jackasses, knowing they could get away with it.

It was a double edged sword, while in hindsight it might not seem like the best idea, this was the carrot that hooked many big names for WCW in a time they needed them
