Greatest WWE Title Match in WM History?

I wanted everybody's thoughts on this.

Personally, from the WM's I've seen, I'd go with Eddie/Angle at WM XX. It had one of the best, most creative finishes to a match I've ever seen. Eddie was brilliant.

Of course, I've never seen Austin/Rock at WM X-Seven, but I'll get to that ASAP.

Yes, definitely see Austin/Rock from Mania X-Seven ASAP as that is one of the best.

In my opinion though, the greatest WWE title match in history is Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart at WrestleMania XII. It takes some real skill to do an hour-long Iron Man match and manage to keep the attention of the fans while also telling a great story, but these guys did that and it ended with HBK winning his first WWE Championship on the grandest stage of them all. For me, that's as good as it gets.
WM17

Angle vs Lesnar WMXIX

Benoit vs HBK vs HHH WMXX
Austin/Rock or Cena/HBK
Bret Hart Vs. Shawn Michaels. The Iron Man Match. 60 minutes with two of the best at the time, you can't go wrong.

Michaels/Hart Iron Man match at WMXII. Simply the best...
Ironman match was shit, tbh.

Probably go Angle/Lesnar.
Iron man match (HBK/Hitman) without question. Eddie vs Angle is a great match too however and imo the best match of that night.
Yeah, Eddie/Angle was really good.

I didn't like the Ironman match. A tie is fine, but make it 2-2 or 3-3 or something. 0-0 is dull. And it made no sense how Monsoon had to come out at the end and make a ruling. As if they never even thought of the possibility of a tie.
WrestleMania 23: Shawn Michaels vs. John Cena.
I'm surprised at some of the picks. Eddie vs Angle? HBK vs Cena? Lesnar vs Angle? Bret vs HBK?

Those were okay matches, but I cannot see them as the greatest.

The greatest I think are:

- Hogan vs Warrior
- Hogan vs Andre
- Stone Cold vs Rock X7
- HBK vs HHH vs Benoit

My pick is Hogan vs Warrior.

It was the first mega-face vs mega-face match, and the crowd was electric. Not only was the World title on the line, but also the IC title. [The IC title was not like today; it was important]

And Hogan lost clean for the first time in nearly 10 years!

Rock/Austin at Mania 17 and Triple H/Shawn/Benoit are pretty much heads and shoulders above the rest. I assume we can count the latter because we're talking about World Title matches in general and not just WWE Title matches? If not, then I'll simply go with Rock/Austin at Mania 17. For sheer spectacle, Andre/Hogan and Warrior/Hogan are notable mentions. Stuff like Cena/HBK isn't even worth mentioning in all honesty. It was overshadowed on the same show.

Mentioned.

WrestleMania 23: Shawn Michaels vs. John Cena.
Andre vs. Hogan and Warrior vs. Hogan are terrible matches.

Hogan/Warrior? We're talking about WRESTLING matches. You do realize that, right?

What's the point of wrestling matches?

Entertainment.

Though there were no backflips and hurricaranas, Hogan/Warrior was still an entertaining match that got 70,000 people excited from start to finish.

And that's all that matters.

That doesn't take away from the fact that they couldn't wrestle.

Sometimes fans get mixed up in the electricity or the match is HUGE this is both. The match itself was just a well booked, never-thought to happen affair but the match itself sucked diddy kong's ass....
Same for Andre vs Hogan.
Hogan and Warrior literally did as little as possible, the fans cover the fact that the match sucked. We tend to make and brake matches.
Hogan/Warrior was an ok match it wasn't bad but it wasn't great.

My pick is Austin/Rock from WM X-7, one of my favorite matches of all-time.
My top 5 in terms of crowd reaction and match quality

1. HBK vs Bret Hart-WM12
2. Austin vs Rock-WM17
3. HBK vs Cena-WM23
4. Eddie vs Angle-WM20
5. Hogan vs Warrior-WM6 (don't know why this gets a bad rap, it was a pretty good match considering who was in it, and the crowd ate it up)
I find both WrestleMania XX title matches very, very, very good!
