For starters, am leaving the forum and since I am not aware on how to delete my account, I guess I will have to leave this one lingering around.

THIS WOULD BE MY LAST THREAD.

I know all the goodbye threads are scoffed at and this one would be no exception but what do you think of goodbye threads in general. The person leaving, at the moment, usually thinks of leaving for good and wants to thank or put their thoughts out for one last time. Coming back to the forum after 3 or 6 months has the same chance of them being dead in the next 3 or 6 months. So to the poster, it is a goodbye though others have seen enough to know most of them come back.

Do you agree that goodbye threads are well intention or do you think if someone leaves, the should simply stop logging in.

Thanks everyone for the fun time I have had here and NO apologies to anyone I have hurt for I never have duplicity and if I have hurt you, that is because I wanted to.

P.S: Since removing account is kind of not available, create a dummy email id, map it to this account, blind the password with gibberish here and then delete that dummy email account as well. Foolproof? No. Effective? Yes.

With this logoff, THEIDEALSTRANGER has left the building.

I'm confused. You're not leaving are you? You're analytical threads are always spot on. The only issue I have with them is that they're so comprehensive they leave little room for debate.
To answer you're question I would say if you were leaving for a major reason or had a number of friends who were going to miss you then by all means post a thread. If people are going to be wondering where you are than tell them.
A great example of this would be when ArrogantlyGrateful took a hiatus earlier this year. There was a thread asking what happened to him. I even posted some derogatory stuff about Rick Martel seeing if I could lure him in.
I've been on boards that I became bored or sick of and just left, no need to say goodbye. I don't know if I'm missed but it didn't really matter.

Just make a new account and post on it saying you're theidealstranger requesting to be banned. The mods will check your IP and you'll get banned for having an alt.

To answer the thread prompt: I don't mind goodbye threads if they're legit. It is embarrassing when the person writing them comes back in a matter of weeks or months though.

You'd be missed by this guy, for what it's worth.

100% in agreement. I like OP's threads and wish he wasn't leaving.

Who are you?
Stranger is a quality over quantity guy. He posts a lot of well researched, descriptive analytical threads. Mostly in the Classic Wrestling section.

I don't know bro, the alt rule is enforced pretty selectively these days. :pac

Agree with your 2nd point. Sincere threads are fine but the "I HATE YOU GUYS, I'M LEAVING FOREVER!!" type threads are pretty annoying. If I was a mod I'd just start banning people who made threads like that, since they're doing nothing but attention seeking.

Goodbye threads are unnecessary imo. Just pm your friends & tell them you're leaving, then log out.
