I was just looking around the forums and boy we're getting more and more newbies. Everytime you turn around there's a newbie, some are pretty decent I mean they post and just become a part of the scenery. Then you have the ones that make you feel like Shrek, the "Get Out Of My Swap" kind (I use Shrek because there has been alot of talk about its sequel amoung my friends, two of whom have gone to advanced screenings of Shrek 2 seperatly I might add). This are the ones we all hate, the ones that post in everythread with some irritating nonsense/bring back a thread from a month ago or what have you. Seeing an example of this just a moment ago, I was prompted to write this. I even saw two of this kind of newbie in the one thread, so I figure that while being mostly solitary creatures they can band together and the result is twice the irritation of one.

Now don't get Hobo wrong, I've never been a "n00b" basher not unless warranted. But it has never stopped to amaze me just how many of these kids just can't really become part of the background noise of the forum, lets take people like Red And Yellow Hogan, this guy was from day one treating WE like some kind of giant E-fed; cutting terrible promos and saying he was going to be an icon. Am I the only one a little bit worried about the mental state of that guy and others like him? Granted on the internet you do get alot of strange people weather they just want attention or feel like they want to belong somewhere...and so join a forum, maybe get a few friends online. I'm up for that sorta thing, helping people out etc. Over the years I've tried to do my best to help everyone one I can. Some people may have found this to be me acting "wise" but personally it's just me trying to be the person I was raised to be.

I've always tried my best to help people online and in reality. I've been giving alot of roleplaying advice to some e-fedders at Pro Wrestling R4GE (cheap plug, I know) and I did so in WEF when I can honestly say I wasn't really in a position too but I tried anyway. I do this because when I started out and all through the time I've been doing the e-fedding thing I've had guy's helping me out mainly someone who was around W-E for a short time and will go unnamed. I've always tried to help anyone who was in need of advice, I know Terry (Chainy/Chanisaw/Telboy) was someone who I gave advice to a few times. There's an old country song called "I Can Help" by Billy Swan who was at one time part of Kris Kristoffersons band. The crux of the song was the line "If you got a problem/don't care what it is/If you need a hand I can assure you this/I can help....". I mean you can't really help people via the internet, but if you can give them advice well, that's just as good.

Although that's not to say that I'm perfect and that I have never come to people for help online. I really have only about two or three people that I do ask for advice really, one being one of my best friends who I used to talk online to alot because they were in a different country. I think we all need a confidant. If you don't have one that's what I think places the rant forum are for, if people are willing to listen that is. Maybe around here though some members may not be willing to listen and will just shoot down the person for opening themselves up, which is really just a shame. I mean who would really condone kicking someone while there down. There are a few people here not really willing to help others (at least I think so) and the maturity level's around here don't help much (that's not everyone you understand just a select few).

Oh and just one final thought, Lee once said something along the lines of and correct me if I'm wrong on this one that WE is an American run forum. Really that does tell it all, as much as I am loyal to this forum. I got to say that we do have that quantity over quality American thing going on here.

I agree this forum is being over run with n00bs. I wish this forum could go back to the way it was when it first started. Now I know I wasn't around in that time but I'm assuming it was a lot smaller and tight knit. Where you could open yourself up and not be afraid of getting bashed. Now it seems if you do that you immediatly get shot down and told to shut up. That's why nobody likes to start anything new.

Now to the newbies. Today or actually just now this HBK dude brings back 5 old threads in Rants. One of them was when with BabyBoy's old account and it was an "I'm Leaving Thread." This guy replies saying "I'm sure he'll be back." That makes it quite odvious he just read the title didn't look at the date and just shot somthing out without any facts. Somtimes I wonder how come they be that stupid?

Anyways I totally agree with everything you say Hobo.

Hobo... you should mod this forum.
I agree with what you say, including that part about Red and Yellow Hogan and his promos (I feuded with him, if that's the correct terminology).

We were all 'n00bs', but I agree it is annoying when they act like clowns or make those threads which make absolutely no sense, which I have seen a lot over the last day or two.

N00bs are fun. Some post good threads and post well and stop being n00bs. Others do nothing and disappear after a few days. Don't let them get to you.

People on this site and many others get pissed for no good reason. You're likely do something that will piss off somebody whether you mean to or not.

He did. Lee demodded every Rants mod though because he felt Rants shouldn't need that much moderation. Plus Hobo wasn't an active mod.

Well, as for your Rant, Hobo. It's one of the few posts from you I like. I won't get into everything being overrun because quite frankly, it's been said everyday. Things just change, whether it be for better or worse. Maybe it's because you are already an "established member" that these n00bs annoy you, but as time goes on, they can start learning more things, and gain knowledge of forums, and sooner or later, they will become "established members".

Yeah, remember. These "n00bs" are the future of WE(if they survive long enough without being banned). They're sorta like the baby turtles of WE. Hundreds are born, but only a few survive to go on.

...some people can't take a joke. It was obviously a joke -- Amish Patel is from (and living in) the UK. Then look: Kaneanite lives in Canada, Rajah lives in Australia, Flash and Adam live in the UK, and I don't know about the mods. I'm the only super mod and administrator who actually lives in the United States. Mind you, most of the viewers (porn probably) are from America. Probably most posters as well (it is mainly a WWE site and forum, besides porn), but overall, what I said was a joke to shut Flash (if I was arguing with his version of spelling a word) or Rajah or whoever else up. It's not serious.

The problem with this place is people try and have feelings. Fine, have felings. But this is the Internet and it should really be a more carefree place. I don't take anything personally. People may think I do (don't know or care), but I don't.

Newbie and n00b mean different things, though, really. A newbie is really a new member. A n00b is a user who doesn't know what to do. That's why you don't see the user title "n00b" as opposed to newbie, and that's also why you see me call Flash (using you for instance) a 'n00b' and not 'newbie.' But yeah, I've been here longer than 99.9% of the users, and so have you (Hobo and MJW). Things don't change much...and yet, they change a whole lot...

Thanks for clearing that up for me John, I guess it makes sence that this doesn't really need much moderation. Oh and Cody, I damn sure feel good being a turtle that didn't die. :agree:

Lee I KNOW it was a joke...but it had an air of truth in it. That is why I used it.
