Hi all,

Since we won’t be getting the shoutbox back anytime soon, figured this would be a good alternative.

Sometimes, you’ve got something on your mind, but, it’s not really worth an entire thread. This is where this thread comes in.

Just a few guidelines:

- Please do not talk about anything that has a thread. For example, there are 8000 covid related threads. You can discuss those things in the threads already made. This is more for topics that just aren’t enough for a dedicated thread.

- Please do not spam. Examples, just posting a gif, just posting a picture, just saying “hi”. At least make your post have a little effort it in. Instead of “I’m cold”, expand just a bit, at least, like “damn, it’s cold outside, summer certainly made a quick exit”. Add a bit of meat to your post.

If you’re still unsure of what to do in here, please ask. It’s basically a giant “talk about anything” thread, except for topics already made.

Cheers :)

COPS is/was a great show. The "Excuse My Beauty Hooker" was hilarious.

I think there was a suicide in Layfayette, Louisiana about two days after this occurred. How humiliating but hilarious was that?

A kid shot a guy in my small town.
This happened Tuesday night, around 8:40 or something.
One of the guys at work said something to me about a week ago that’s still in my mind.

Long story short, I used to be super, super shy growing up. Like, skip classes when I knew there was a presentation to be done, can’t even call to order a pizza, head down with a quick “hi” when people said hello to me kinda shy.

It felt really debilitating to be that way, honestly.

Probably about 15 years ago now, I just said fuck it, I don’t want to live that life anymore where I missed opportunities or didn’t speak up, let people walk all over me, just a real waste of a life.

I’m the complete opposite and it’s really been an awesome ride. I shared my story a while ago with a co-worker who told me he doesn’t feel comfortable speaking in front of people, doesn’t matter if it’s a handful or 1000 people, he was just shy and couldn’t do it.

He told me last week that when we spoke about being shy and I said “it’s stupid”, it really helped him a lot in trying to overcome his fear and that he’s felt a lot more comfortable speaking in front of people.

It really sticks with me cuz sometimes, you don’t even think your words will impact someone as much as they actually do. Then you hear a story like this and it makes you feel a way, like, wow, someone was listening and words I said were their inspiration to overcome something they had struggled with.

Anyway, I just wanted to share that cuz you never know how powerful your words might be to someone. The fact I was just sharing my story and this guy went home and took that with him is a really cool feeling.

I was just like you when I was younger. Literally just like you described especially around strangers. I still will have my moments like that around strangers but I've opened more than I used to especially with people I'm comfortable with and have some kind of relationship with them.

Yeah I have my moments but it’s very few moments where the old feeling creeps up.

you just realize how much you miss out on in life. It’s no way to live.

Fun fact of the day,
The US is technically a hermaphrodite, it has a penis (florida) and has a vagina (grand canyon)
I ended up with 2 days ISS, was throwing a small foam ball between a group of friends, a teacher said stop, so I did, then he asked to give him the ball, I said no because he had no reason to take it, I stopped when he told me, I got a bit argumentative with the bastard, which is what I ended up calling him, I could have really earned the ISS by calling so much worse than a fucking bastard. This btw, is the best ISS I have ever served, So peaceful, I can do whatever I want within reason, talk to others, eat, sleep, play games, watch youtube, anything! It was somewhat worth it.
Usually insulting a teacher is 3 days OSS, which is a bit much, but since the assistant principle likes me and I'm a good kid, I got a bit less punishment than others.
My cat says hey
Tell your cat I says hi.
