I can't believe the idea that EY's title win is somehow inspired by D-Bry's even got off the ground. It's a non-starter.
I suspect it's much more simple. Magnus' title run has, sadly, failed to draw. TNA need a main event for Sacrifice and Magnus / Joe III isn't going to cut it. What over babyfaces do they have other than EY?
Except, nobody will believe EY has a chance of winning the belt at Sacrifice. So you hotshot the belt onto him a few Impacts previous and boom, the rematch is your (actually quite intriguing) Sacrifice main event.
If it's not booking 101, it's booking 102 max. A D-Bry rip off? I don't buy it. What's the point? How does that make money? Alternatively, how would you create Sacrifice main event with even a minimal chance of drawing if not like this?
