Hey guys!

So, I found this article a while ago, and it really got me thinking about where Eve is headed. I don't necessarily agree with everything written, but still a good read, and fairly accurate I think, of course, if the creative team decides she's capable enough of pulling it off.

Ever since she turned on Raw several months ago, WWE diva Eve Torres has emerged as the most promising female heel in the promotion since Stephanie McMahon was running amok all over WWE television in 1999-2002.

Indeed, at this point, Eve seems to be poised to be Stephanie's natural successor. No doubt WWE's booking team, mindful of what a red-hot heat magnet Stephanie was during the Attitude Era, would like to see the former Diva Search winner emulate even just some of the success the "Billion Dollar Princess" had.

With this in mind, here are just some of the reasons we think Eve is all set to become the new Stephanie McMahon...

Promo Skills

Similar to Stephanie, Eve is an extremely good and capable public speaker. The star is gifted with a confidence and strength on the mic that most of the other divas in the company simply lack.

Make no mistake about it: You will never see Eve stumble over words or deliver her scripted lines in a woefully wooden manner (Kelly Kelly, we're looking at you). Like Stephanie before her, the former Diva Search winner is a natural performer, and this aids her greatly in her quest to climb to the top of WWE.

Her Character Is Easy to Hate

Stephanie managed to get over in 2000 by portraying herself as an obnoxious and incredibly spoilt rich girl who would throw a tantrum and start lashing out and insulting everyone whenever she failed to get her way on something. In response to this, fans despised her and jeered the woman vociferously, making her one of the top heel acts in the company.

Eve's current character is also thoroughly detestable. She openly admits to using gullible men like Zack Ryder to aid her career, berates the other divas every she chance she gets and sucks up to Raw and SmackDown GM John Laurinaitis non-stop. Unsurprisingly, the fans can't stand her either.

She Has the Support of Higher-Ups in WWE

As per recent reports, WWE owner Vince McMahon has been extremely impressed with Eve's performances on Raw and SmackDown since she turned heel a few months ago.

With Vince McMahon's support thrown behind her, Eve seems virtually guaranteed to garner even more screen time in WWE and become as high-profile as Stephanie was during her stint as a heel.

She Is Bursting with Personality

Stephanie succeeded as a heel in 2000 because of her heel charisma, wacky facial expressions (something she inherited from her dad) and willingness to act as awful as possible to garner a negative crowd reaction.

For her past, Eve is also bursting with personality and radiates charisma. More so than any other woman in the company, in fact. Whether she is strutting down to the ring or showering John Laurinaitis with over-the-top compliments backstage, we definitely get a strong sense of her sneaky, obnoxious heel character and her willingness to do virtually anything to succeed.

She Has Been Shown to Be Power Mad

One of the staples of Stephanie's heel character was how she bossed everyone around and acted like she had far more power and control over the company than she actually did.

Unsurprisingly, it was shown to drive the other (babyface) wrestlers absolutely crazy and frequently led to them viciously disparaging her in promos and backstage skits, much to the delight of the fans.

As we take a look at the evolution of her character, we can recognize that Eve has been portrayed in a very similar manner, as she boorishly orders around the other women and gets them to do her bidding.

Her association with John Laurinaitis has garnered her a decent amount of power, and the former Diva Search winner intends to use every since bit of it to her advantage.

This was most notable last night when WWE posted a video of the diva taking it upon herself to fire the Bella twins after the two sisters made some mildly insulting remarks towards her in a backstage conversation.

Yup. She's gone mad with power, alright...

Thoughts?

EDIT: I meant to put a question mark at the end of the title. I know, it's whatever.

I stopped reading right there. Lol @ her being a more promising heel than Lita from 05-06 and Trish from 04-05.

That's a disgraceful statement.

She seems more like Karen Jarrett at this point, without the annoying screaming.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

HA.

NO

I think she does a good job of imitating her walk, but she still can't talk to save her life, Monday was terrible. The glasses were a nice touch though and her body looked great.

BIG FUCKING NO. Stephanie was one of kind female manager. Eve is not even in the league.

Promo skills - Horrible

3:54 - 4:28

Her Character Is Easy to Hate - Not so much, Vickie gets more boos everyweek.

She Has the Support of Higher-Ups in WWE - No evidence/proof. Irrelevant.

She Is Bursting with Personality - TITS. Nothing more.

She Has Been Shown to Be Power Mad - Not enough to reach Stephanie's level.

This comparison is a disgrace.

And here we go, overrating Steph. People bitched about her being on tv for years and couldn't wait till she left, yet all of a sudden she's great. No dice. She was good for awhile but got old quick. At least Eve is way hotter, which is the main appeal for most women on the show. Not that I care that much about her either way.

True. But Steph was also one of the most over heels from that time period. As were Lita and Trish during their heel runs. Eve is no where near where any of those women were, and the OP called Eve the greatest heel diva since Stephanie McMahon. Steph was immensely hated...but she was also a heel. She was supposed to be hated! Everyone was into that storyline she did with Kurt/HHH, HHH/Mr.McMahon/Test, it was nothing like the afterthought of Eve's confusing storyline with Zack/Cena/Kane/Laurinitis. And what's more, Stephanie was over even before she did the heel turn, from her work with the Ministry of Darkness and Shane McMahon.

What's more, Stephanie was from wrestling's most popular era. There's no way that Eve's work from crowd reaction to storyline potential across the show is going to compare with Stephanie's where she remained an over and hated heel even when she worked with Triple H, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, the Undertaker, Kane, DX etc...

I do think people overrate Steph on here, but in this case this isn't even a contest.

And Steph looked hot AND could cut a promo with a believable character.

The only thing good about Eve is how damn fine she looks with those glasses on.

Like WWE Gives a flying Fuck.

How the hell is she soposed to gain experience and get better?

Its like all you people think is that theres some crazy "chosen ones" that get birthed out of the Indys asses and are soposed to be better at entertaining than the stone cold, a better wrestler than benoit, more jacked than Goldberg and more charasmatic than the rock.

She cant get better because she is not good enough to begin with. She should go look for a career in porn, pretty sure she can big star in that. She cant wrestle, she cant cut a decent promo, bad mic skills, horrible acting skills, stupid facial expressions and No passion for the business. Tits is the only she got going for her.

Face it, Eve is not fit for Pro-wrestling, definitely not top heel material.

Stephanie was a Goddess among Women. She was a standard for Heel work.

This comparison/thread is big fucking disgrace. Op deserves a red rep.

Top heel? What the fuck are you talking about!?

Shes a diva for christ sake. Shes there to fill segments, add some spice into the storyline, and just be a hottie!

Just because you do not agree with the OP, does not mean he/she deserves red rep or fuck all.

Just like Brocks gimmick, you're a godamn bully, and a perfect example of the reason why posters can't express themselves freely on this forum.

YOU'RE a disgrace.

I don't think it's this really.

I think JR said it best: some people have IT and some people don't. Eve doesn't have IT.

Trish had "it", Stephanie had "it", Lita had "it"--Eve will join the long line of women who were pushed pushed pushed but didn't have that definable star quality or ability that put them above everyone else in their time, like Candice Michelle, Natalya Neidhart (I think Naty is a fantastic wrestler and a beautiful girl, but she didn't really have "it" during her push), Michelle McCool, etc...

This doesn't mean she's bad. She just doesn't have "it". And people who have that come along only every once in a while, and Eve just isn't one of them. For reference, you can go back and watch any segment/match with the above mentioned "it" ladies at any point in their career from heel or face and see how the crowd reacts to them. Even when they did terribly, they got a tremendous amount of reaction and interest. There's a reason why all 3 main evented a Monday night RAW at one point or another.

And ETA- Eve by all accounts is a wonderful, kind caring and very intelligent woman. She graduated with honors with a degree in Systems Engineering, she trains in jiu jitsu, and YET she has never had that dynamic presence about her that's pulled the audience in. The most she's had is some heat with this storyline with Cena and Ryder, which is fine--but she's shown over the past few months that she doesn't have the ability to turn that into something more, either through working in the ring or talking on the microphone.

It's a shame because on paper she's the total diva package, but I think the perfect example of someone who would excel wonderfully in some other field, but NOT wrestling. I just don't think it's meant to be for her.

JR knows alot of shit, he does. A hell of alot more than any of us thats for sure. Some people ARE born with IT, but as you can obviously see that is becoming rarer and rarer in the WWE. Some people just have to make it happen, just like Benoit. He rose from ashes like many others and eventually learned how to have IT.
