Eva Marie recently spoke with Kenny Herzog to promote tonight's WWE Total Divas season 5 premiere. Below are highlights, including Eva commenting on possibly appearing at WWE Fastlane after doing a shoot for the promo we posted earlier.

How do you win over fans that are still skeptical about your commitment to wrestling as opposed to the overall Eva Marie brand?

People are always going to have something to say, where it's good, bad or indifferent. And for me, I know exactly why I became a WWE Diva. I think people forget I tried out to be a Diva before I got Total Divas. So I was given this amazing opportunity that, if presented to anybody, they would take. As far as my commitment to being a wrestler, the proof is in the pudding. I asked to go back to NXT when I really didn't have to. I was already on the main roster, so I could have continued doing what I was doing up there. I never want to do anything mediocre, so I needed to make that personal assessment and ask Vince McMahon and Triple H, "Can I go to NXT?" Because we have the resources, so why wouldn't I want to capitalize on that? I've put in blood, sweat and tears to progress, which is awesome, 'cause look at me now: I'm working a live event tonight. It was definitely one of the scariest – but best – decisions I've ever made.

Where does Eva Marie fit into the Divas landscape, which is markedly different than during your last main-roster run?

So much has changed. I'm a pretty big bad guy, so that would definitely transpire on the main roster. I'd be coming in as a major heel. I think they need some heel blood for sure, so hopefully that can happen.

So, for the record, can we infer from recent photo shoots that you'll be back on Raw and SmackDown again soon?

I mean, that is the hope. I can tell you [the photo shoot] was definitely for Fastlane, and that is the goal for sure. I think there needs to be a little bit more of All Red Everything on Raw and SmackDown.

While in this interview I find her dedication very cute, especially if she personally requested to go to NXT. Working with the better women's division would surely help them especially since she debuted when Nikki was kinda awful and Paige was doing nothing of value.

The PROBLEM is, she still sucks. Bad. I just don't know man, it doesn't take 8-12 months to suddenly be Shawn Michaels, and if Eva is getting called up I think her run in NXT was wasteful.

I give her credit for putting the work in and trying to get better. Problem is that she's still not good enough. It doesn't take a few months to become a good wrestler, it takes a few years.

I am no fan of Eva Marie.
I think her showings so far have been exceptionally poor however ...
The one and only thing I can credit her with is that at least she has made efforts to be more credible in ring even of it is not paying off yet. This is more than can be said for many divas of the past and even the present.
Rosa Mendes has been in the business for a decade now and is still as green as day one. She has made zero effort to improve in any capacity in a decade, that isn't even funny anymore. Her only talent seems to be keeping a smile on Michael Haye's face to keep her job despite offering nothing.
So when people are quick to pull Eva Marie to pieces just remember she has actually made more effort in a few months than Rosa Mendes has in a decade.

I mean, she IS trying. She's made very, very incremental progress. But she's nowhere near ready for the main roster- some would argue she's not ready for NXT TV.

When she can work a Women's Title match without slapping 20 gimmicks onto it, maybe we can talk about promoting her.

It's easy to see her value though. Every time she opens her Ric Flair knock-off robe to reveal her ring gear, I get an almost instant boner.
