Bill Watts lasted for 6-7 Months as head of WCW from June 1992-Feb 1993.

He had an interesting run, had some good angles and storylines and some bad ideas like banning off the top rope moves and removing the padding around ringside.

But he also didn't like Paul E. Dangerously, which led to the demise of the Dangerous Alliance and him splitting up with Rick Rude and Madusa.

For those who watched during that time, what did you think of his tenure?

He was trying to recreate Mid-South wrestling in an era that was well past that at that point.
I loved just about everything else Watts did and it's surprising how many innovations he made that Vince gets credit for.
That being said his WCW run was largely a failure.

I liked parts of it, yeah, although he came after K. Allen Frey's run which was very short-lived yet also set a lot of the amazing things in motion that Watts eventually killed. Frey knew nothing about the wrestling business, supposedly, but the amazing string of 1992 PPVs started under his run so he must have been listening to the right people.

1992 WCW was a great year, but ended very poorly. Havoc '92 was a disaster, Starrcade '92 had some great matches but a really messy card, and 1993 WCW was just... weird.

Some of what Watts did was good. Booking Vader as a monster heel and World champion was good work, and putting the World title on Ron Simmons. But ultimately, he was behind the times definitely in the way he booked the company. What worked 10 years ago in the Mid-South didn't work for WCW in 1992. Especially with the way he structured deals with quarterly reviews, which rubbed folks like the Steiners the wrong way and sent them for the door.
