That WBD exec recently mentioned how because of Dynamite TBS brings in 4m viewers on Wednesday nights between 7pm and midnight. Did we get it wrong all this time by thinking that the value of a show is based on the viewership of said show? WBD'S comments give insite into how networks decide on what stays and what gets the chop.
This may explain why NXT hasn't been given the boot yet on USA. Being the huge brand they are they probably drive a lot of viewers their way. Possibly the same for Rampage.
It makes me laugh how so many self-proclaimed analysts on this site were so sure that demo and viewership numbers were the be all and end all.
You can tell how WBD values the AEW brand and I can't see them dropping them anytime soon. What the Internet thinks does not reflect what people in the real world think lol.
People try to make out that there is an imaginary war between AEW and WWE but the former are an upstart so they were never going to overtake WWE in terms of popularity and I doubt that was ever their intention. But to be such a huge success so early on and having a huge entity like WBD in their pocket is nothing short of amazing. It makes me wonder how did TNA fuck things up with Spike?
Anyway, thoughts on this?
