The big story last week was Jon Moxley’s interview on Talk is Jericho, in which he described his frustrations with Vince McMahon and WWE creative when he worked there as Dean Ambrose. Fightful reports that several wrestlers and employees of WWE have agreed with a lot of what Moxley had to say on the podcast and some are worried that they’ll end up in the same position creatively. One wrestler said that what he said “broke their heart”, as it described how they felt, which is they get nauseous when they get to WWE TV each week. The same talent added they are glad the story is public.

The unnamed wrestler also said that they believe Moxley’s comments have more weight than CM Punk’s did when he left in 2014. The wrestler previously thought they could make their run work but now has doubts about their future. Another wrestler contacted Fightful to add that if their situation doesn’t improve, they will leave when they’re contract is up. They also said they’ve “mentally checked out” at this time. None of the wrestlers have blamed the writers because they have a “frustrating job and a tough time answering to Vince McMahon.” The wrestler echoed Moxley’s sentiments that McMahon has an infrastructure around him which makes it hard to talk to him, as writers and producers are worried about getting fired so they don’t give as much constructive criticism as they should.

When a writer was asked about Moxley’s interview, all they said was that he wasn’t lying.

Moxley might have launched a nuke at McMahon and the WWE.... this looks like it is about to explode and the WWE will be left scrambling to clean up the mess. Jesus. Thank every wrestling god for AEW and Moxley right now.

My guess is that it's mostly Rusev who's "mentally checked out."
That's who came to my mind too, can't blame him if it was the way WWE dropped the ball with him and wasted his talent. Be interesting to see how this develops or if its all talk.

Yeah his entire WWE career has been a case of one wasted opportunity after another, and he's tried hard for a long time to make it work regardless.

Plus given some of the stuff that he and Lana have said on their social media pages, I wouldn't be surprised if they're in full on "fuck it" mode at this point.

This is the deal guys it all comes down to this and that is that they have to run out their contracts and whether or not they agree with their creative Direction it doesn't matter it's a contract therefore once it expires they don't have to re-sign and they can go to aew. I can guarantee you though the WWE will offer a little more money for them to re-sign and even a better push possibly a title LOL maybe the 24-7 one

Now that there are clearly options and alternatives for the wrestlers, I don’t know who would want to stay, outside of the tippy top guys.

They care about Lesnar and Reigns, and then Styles & Rollins, and maybe Orton are a notch below them. Then there is everyone else in midcard purgatory. And what’s crazy, is they can’t even book their top guys well.

Rollins hasn’t really been given a character since he turned face. Reigns is more forced than anyone in the company. They had a huge sympathy payoff comeback story handed to them, but nope they just decided to turn him right back into Superman.

Lesnar is/was there to put someone over and then turn back into an attraction. But, nope they got cold feet with Reigns several times. Have Rollins work a 3 minute match with him, in which he had to win because of a low blow, and they refuse to take Brock out of the title picture.

Then AJ’s booking with the constant shit endings and stretching feuds out unnecessarily for months on end. They (Vince) really can’t book anyone right.

Guys that even seemed tailor made for the MR: Joe, EC3, Aleister, War Raiders, among others have all been fucked to varying degrees.

People should finish the contract that was signed, be professional and leave when the contract expires. If they want to shoot when they are no longer under contract that's fine.
If Vince is not using them on TV, he should just release them and not horde them just so another company can't use that.

that is BS.

Well, hopefully people learn their lesson and stop signing.

There are only a handful of things that will actually get WWE to change their shitty ways, not being able to sign or re-sign any top talent is one of them, or at least I would hope it is.
they had to sign because there was really no where else to go. But now that AEW is here and can give them close to WWE money with less dates and also let them do other indy shows, they now have a better option.

Don't be surprised if wrestlers start asking for an opt out clause if they sign with WWE in the future.

Yeah, I think what Ambrose/Moxley said is right. Got to wonder if his intereview is what is the thing that shakes things up and changes the way Vinnie Mac does things.

I don't see Moxley going back to WWE for a LONG time, if ever. He flat-out said that, even if there was no other wrestling promotion in the world besides WWE, he still would have left. He wanted out, no matter what.

At BEST, MAYBE you get a Bret Hart situation where like 20 years down the road he reconciles with them somewhat.
