In the last few weeks since they announced the main event, they've showcased 5 men, in Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt and Samoa Joe all being showcased in matches that have been built to have the men fighting to prove that they want to fight for the title more.

What's saddening is, with all of what has happened in the past few weeks:

Roman Reigns vs. Finn Balor
Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt
Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Samoa Joe
Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns.

If you also count that triple threat between Finn Balor, Seth Rollins and The Miz, you could have had another gem right there:

You could have literally have had all of these matches BE for the title! You could have had a cool division of some sorts, but instead, you have them having screaming contests and big fight feels over matches that AREN'T for the title. It just makes things a bit less exciting, because the division is there, the builds to the matches on RAW are there, but the big prize that makes it matter is not.

Who cares. Titles don't matter anymore as proven by Jinder Mahal. just need to enjoy watching... somehow...

Those matches were done with one purpose which is showing the fans that Reigns is above the others. He beat the 2 biggest faces on RAW clean in random matches. 2 matches that could've headlined multiple PPVs in the future. I myself was anticipating the Reigns-Balor rematch especially after Balor beat him clean, but they just couldn't wait to give Reigns his win back and make sure he's the one and only. This Reigns-Lesnar match is killing the whole show.

It's true, they don't really need Lesnar as champion. Any combination of those 5 guys in singles, triple threat, fatal four-way or fatal five-way matches could easily main event a PPV card.

Add Strownman to the mix once he returns and use Miz and Ambrose sparingly in that scene and they don't need Lesnar at all.

They don't need Lesnar at all. He doesn't draw shit anymore than the guys listed in OP.

Waste of 5 million a year for a guy that doesn't care and shows up few times a year.

How're those matches drawing???

Sorry, I actually like most of those guys, but couldn't help it, had to make the joke :D
Reigns just isn't good enough to draw the viewers. He's got no charisma. Hence all the viewers are leaving.

Lesnar As a draw is overstated, unfortunately he barely moves the needle and he almost certainly isn't worth $5 million a year

But he's a bigger draw than Fecking Bray Wyatt.

They could've, doesn't mean they should've. Without a compelling storyline in place, all of these matches mean shit. The 5-way is perhaps the best option right now because multiman gimmick matches generally tend to pad the lack of feud development. Lesnar is their champion right now, there might be an endgame to this that played out yet.
