I liked her when she first debuted in NXT and the alliance with Tenille Dashwood. I was a little surprised WWE didnt want to further that on main roster. If timing had been a little different and they got called up just before the formation of the tag titles, there careers could have been a lot more different.
The Charlotte partnership felt like a miss and a case of them needing to plug someone for the role with an unknown ceiling, but I quite enjoyed the partnership with Titus Worldwide. I felt like they could have been used more to break up what felt like a mundane three hour show with the others playing off how funny Titus is.
After that, I struggled to get behind her getting more opportunities than she did, but I was happy to give her time. What she went through in her personal life with her partner dieing at such a young age must have been horrible to deal with.
I thought she'd be a good fit in Impact/TNA given the togetherness vibe you get with the company. I wasnt keen on the Ash by Elegance character at first because it felt very cut and paste from other characters whilst being a big departure from Dana Brooke herself. But to be fair to her, she dug her heels and won over most people, including myself. The fact most people were happy she won the TNA Knockouts Title speaks volumes on how impressed people have been with her.
If this is the end of the career then its sad, as it feels like shes finally moved out from first gear in to second gear. But the good thing about the industry as a whole that theres plenty of ways she can still contribute, if she wishes too, without damaging her health further.
