Ever since WWE went with the High Def set, the PPV's titantrons have suffered. There was something always different every PPV prior to that switch. Now its just the RAW and Smackdowns titantron with a few things moved and a few things added.

You would go to a show to be excited to see that the titantron looked like, now its basically the same every show.

Other than the In Your House backdrop, PPV entrances were pretty bland up until late 1998. I think Survivor Series with the huge Deadly Games Skull was one of the first I remember.

Like someone else said, Backlash always had great ones.

The Summerslam one where they made it seem like a theater type of entrance was also cool.

The Cyber Sunday/Taboo Tuesday one also stood out because of it's unique computer/phone style design.

The current WWE set is fine for entrances and stuff, but it just seems like it might be TOO big, most of it is just show for the live audience, cause half the stage never comes across on TV.

The best thing to come out of the HD sets though....Wrestlemania stages. So much more memorable wrestlemania stages in past few years than before.
