McIntyre is getting the kind of strong Baby face run not seen after the Cena era.

Becky received a good Baby face run with the title and was on the threshold of going mainstream.

Can McIntyre become a big star like Cena in an year or so?

Not a chance.

Drew comes off as someone who's trying to be a John Cena type character. The catchphrases, the silly smile. Its all something everyone has seen with Cena and it always fails (Roman and Rollins did the same shtick).

if they turn him into a big kid, who panders all the time and brags about his charity work he might be as big as Cena

The chance is very small. Cena was more charismatic, but Drew has a lot of the tools to succeed.
The thing about Cena that isn't brought up much is that Cena had so many wrestlers/veterans on the roster that are better wrestling, teaching and grooming him day by day. Drew, with the exception of maybe 2 or 3 guys, is the best hand on the roster. The only vets around are Big Show, HHH, some producers like Jamie Noble, and sometimes Brock (who doesn't seem to care about passing on knowledge from what we know of him), so Drew has to go off of what he already knows, which is a very sub-optimal way to grow in the industry.

Drew has still to find that electricity going into matches.

That way when you name opponents they become dream matches/events instead of just a match at the top of the card.

It's too early to even say yes or no because McIntyres run has mostly been without fans. Obviously his whole title run so far at least.

The crowds really help elevate the wrestlers. Cena getting a ton of reactions every time he came out for example.

McIntyre isn't like Cena though. He doesn't cater to the kids, which was a huge boost for Cena. So if he does become bigger than what he is now then it wont be like Cena.

No he can't. McIntyre doesn't have Cena's level of competitors. Cena had a whole roster of guys he could face in main events. Drew has none.

No he’s absolutely boring. Cena had everything going for him. Charisma, star power, wrestling skills and promo skills

For all of Cena's faults his morning dump has more charisma, promo skills, and personality than Drew McIntyre has.

So no, resoundingly NO.

No, he can be like baristas character , a believable serious badass who does not feel underdog against anyone and would take any challenge , Probably the second biggest name after Roman

As of now Cena was the last of megastars, WWE can do whatever they want without fans...but Drew got over organically before the fans we're gone

He honestly should be used as an antihero once fans are back

The success of failure with this new feud with Randy will be critical to his future direction. Too bad there are no fans becuase it has potential to be feud of the year

No chance in hell!

Becky is not a star either.

Drew is just another champion in WWE. Being champion is nothing anymore. Everyone already was... or can hold the belt in future.

Bland roided dude can't get the next John Cena level of stardom just because he got some wins and titles. It diesen't work like that.

Even John Cena was at the right time with his raper gimmick at first. But Drew... he just meh.

Drew will be a main event player for years to come. But he's not even close to Cena. He doesn't have the personality, mic skills or charisma that Cena has.

Let's hope not.
I'd like to think their buisness model has changed to an extent, and they're not gonna present a big colorful power ranger as the face of the company anymore, the PG era is not in full effect anymore. Even Roman Reigns, as bad and boring as he was, was still handled differently than Cena, yeah he cut the infamous nursery rhymes promos early on, but he quickly drifted away from that. I don't see how you can equate Mcintyre to Cena, there are no similarities between the two.
